Today is the release of the Simon Says Stamp February 2023 Card Kit called Sweet Days. It is definitely SWEET!!! Here is an image of the very sweet kit:
There is a stamp set in the kit called Sweet Days Stamp Set and matching dies (on reserve) called Sweet Days Dies. I used the stamp set in all 5 of my designs since this is a "one stamp, five ways" post. Here is an image of the bundle:
It is SO YUMMY! I was coloring images this morning, so I made my husband go get me a donut! Not good for the New Year Goals haha. Here are my 5 cards:
This is my "random stamping" card. I die-cut a piece of white cardstock with the A2 Thin Frame Die and then stamped all of the images in the Sweet Days stamp set with Intense Black Ink. I then colored all of the images in with Copic Markers. I added details with a white Uniball gel pen.
I attached it to a card base made with Lawn Fawn Guava Cardstock (my favorite color every). I then die-cut one of the smaller frames in the A2 Thin Frame Dies out of the same cardstock and white cardstock. I embossed a sentiment from the Sweet Days stamp set with Ranger Hot Pink embossing powder. I attached that to the bottom of the card. I used some Party Pink Nuvo Drops around the sentiment.
I used the B2B rectangle Dies by Mama Elephant with white cardstock. I attached that to a red cardstock card base. I embossed a sentiment from the Sweet Days stamp set in the center with Carnation Red embossing powder. I embossed the line of hearts stamp on the bottom.
I stamped the two strawberries in the stamp set multiple times with black ink. I colored them in with three of my Spectrum Noir Tri-Blend Markers. There is a pink one in the kit that I didn't have, so I was so excited to get that one! I used the Dark Red Blend and the Coral Blend and the Jade Green Blend on these strawberries. I used a gray Copic on the edges of the chocolate. I used a white Uniball over the black dots on each berry. I fussy cut them all out as I didn't have the matching Sweet Days Dies. I arranged them in an oval around the sentiment. I tied some red/white twine over the embossed hearts. I added some Red Berry Nuvo Drops around the berries.
This card may not impress at first glance, but it took FOREVER, so you should be impressed if not haha. I die-cut a frame using the MFT A2 Rectangle Dies from one of the patterned papers in the kit. I die-cut a thin frame from raspberry cardstock using the SSS Thin Frame Dies (second largest). I cut a piece of SSS clear acetate sheets to be the size of an A2 card. I then glued the blue frame on the top of it first and the pink frame inside of the blue frame (fits perfectly!). Next, I cut another piece of white cardstock to be A2 card size. I used the Hearts and Stars Stencil in the kit and brushed Pawsitively Saturated Inks over it in Carnation. I made it darker along the outside and lighter on the inside.
I used a bunch of sequins on the inside. I had some pink/silver star ones and then I used some sparkling clear and some of the SSS Mini Hearts Party sequin mix. I probably put way too many sequins in there! I stamped three of the succors from the stamp set with black ink. I colored all three in with the Spectrum Noir Tri-Blend marker that came with the kit. I cut them out right next to the lines and then used a black marker to darken the edges. I also stamped three more of just the stick and did the same with those. I embossed the Hey Sugar sentiment with white embossing powder. I used foam tape behind it and attached it on top of the shaker. I then attached the three succors on the top tucking the bottom of the sticks under the sentiment and using foam tape behind the center one. I tucked the three single sticks below the sentiment making them appear to just be longer. I used Tonic Crystal Glaze over the succors and you can tell it is still wet in these photos! When it dried, it kind of cracked, but I like how it looked! See what I mean about the LOTS of time and effort put into this card?
I die-cut a piece of Arches watercolor paper with the SSS Mini Slimline Rectangle Dies. I then painted it with Nuvo Shimmer Powder in four strips. I used a combo of Catherine Wheel and Fantail Firecracker on the left, then Blue Blitz, then Solar Flare, and then Cherry Bomb on the far right. I attached this piece to a white card base. I embossed the heart border on the bottom with white embossing powder. I embossed a sentiment just above it with Kirtsch Flamingo Embossing Glaze. It is pink, but because it's transparent, it picked up the colors below it and looks purple and coral!
I stamped four of the donuts (two of two) with Latte Pawsitively Saturated Ink. I then colored them all in with Copic markers in the same four colors as the background shimmer powders. I cut them out and arranged them on the top of the card. I embossed a few of the small stamps on the top of the card with white embossing powder. I used Nuvo Jewel Drops around the card matching the colors of each section.
I die-cut a rectangle with the SSS Nested Slimline Rectangle Die from white cardstock. I attached it to a red cardstock slimline card base. I then stamped all of the stamps in the Sweet Days stamp set on white cardstock with Intense Black Ink. I colored them all in with Copic Markers. I cut them all out, but the matching dies would have been preferred!
I arranged all of the stamps over the background leaving the bottom center open. I used foam tape behind some of them. I embossed a sentiment using Candied Apple Tim Hotz Embossing Glaze. I cut around the edges and attached it to a piece of red cardstock. I used foam tape behind it and attached it to the center of the card. I used Chalk Stick Nuvo Drops over the white drops on the donuts and around the background. I used other Nuvo Drops over the other decorations on the desserts. I used some Blushing Red around the background as well.
And that's a wrap! Five cards all made with the Sweet Days stamp set and the Sweet Days card kit. I love the Paper Rose Cozy Days papers in this kit, the Hearts and Stars Stencil, the Spectrum Noir Tri-Blend marker, and the Fancy Love die (didn't get a chance to use it though!) in this kit! It's a winner! Thanks for visiting today! Suzy
