I purchased this stamp set a few months ago and I realized I hadn't used it yet. I usually use the stamps as soon as they arrive at my house, but somehow this one got misplaced! It was exciting to find it as I love it so much! And it's perfect for Spring even though it was released maybe last Spring! Ahhh Spring is so my favorite season for so many reasons. Two of them being the obvious - I love flowers and I love the colors of Spring. Here is an image of this darling stamp set called Garden Girl:
As you can see, it fits right up my Spring loving alley! It also has a set of matching dies, but I'm cheap and don't mind fussy cutting, so I buy lots of stamps without the dies. It saves me so much money and lets me get twice as many stamps! And honestly, I think I prefer fussy cutting to coloring (if that is possible haha). Here is my card:
I used my (((way over used))) random-stamping technique for this card. I don't know why I like this technique so much, but I tend to use it every time there are lots of small images in a stamp set. I love the way it looks, I love to color all of the images, and I love puzzles, so it is fun to do! I stamped all of the stamps in the Garden Girl stamp set with Latte Pawsitively Saturated Ink on a white rectangle that I die-cut with the largest rectangle in the SSS A2 Thin Frame Dies.
I colored all of the images in with colored pencils. I used a white Uniball and a Silver Uniball gel pen for details and for the tools. I ended up not liking the no-line coloring look on this, so I outlined all of the images with a fine tip Micron marker. Or you could just stamp them with Intense Black Ink to start with!
I adhered my colored piece to a yellow cardstock card base. I then die-cut a banner using the same color cardstock. I stamped the sentiment from the Garden Girl stamp set on it with Intense Black Ink and attached it to the bottom side of the card with foam tape beneath it. I then added some Nuvo Drops in the center of the flowers and over the little dots on the tools.
This stamp set is so cute and I ended up not needing dies for this one layer card anyway! I can't believe my beloved Spring is almost here! Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoyed this card made with the Doodlebug Garden Girl stamp set! Suzy
