I am in love with Clearly Besotted stamp sets. I've just discovered some of their latest ones - you can see all of them in the SSS Store HERE. They are SO cute! I just bought two of them (had to limit myself), so I want to share a card with you using one of them. This one is called Balloon Bunch Love. Here is an image:
I don't like to buy matching dies as it just adds a lot of cost and fussy cutting is fun to me. You can buy double the stamp sets if you just cut them out yourself in my opinion! Here is my card:
I stamped all of the images in the Balloon Bunch Stamp Set with Intense Black Ink on white cardstock. I then colored them in with colored pencils. I love the way the trees look with the pencils. I colored in small circles with a lighter green and then did the same with a darker green in some spots. If you could see them up close, they look really realistic that way. I added some white shading with a white Uniball gel pen. I colored all of the critters and the 3 balloons as well with pencils. I left the balloons white.
I fussy cut all of the images out (why is this my favorite part?!!!). I then made the background by die-cutting a piece of white cardstock with the largest die in the SSS Thin Frame Dies. I used a SSS Clouds For Days stencil for the sky with Pawsitively Saturated Ink in Marine and Tidepool. I then applied Sprout and Fairway to the bottom mixing it with the bottom of the blue sky. I attached the tree image over the bottom with foam tape behind the top of the trees. I attached the three balloons with foam tape behind the balloon leaving the string unattached. I attached the critters with foam tape behind them and then trimmed the strings and tucked them behind the critter hands.
I used Glossy Accents over the balloons so they are shiny, but it also turned them a different color which I don't particularly like. I love Tonic Crystal Glaze, but mine keeps cracking when it dries lately - not sure if it is just too old? What do you use for glossy accents that doesn't turn something a different color? I added some Chalk Stick Nuvo Drops around the sky. I also stamped two of the sentiments between the animals with Intense Black Ink.
That's it! Who agrees that this stamp set is just darling?!!! I do wish I had fussy cut out the white cardstock between the two trees, but other than that, I love this card. Cute little critters are my favorite thing to make scenes with. This Balloon Bunch Love Stamp Set is right up my alley. Check out all of the Clearly Besotted stamps at Simon Says Stamp as there are so many cute ones. I'll use the other one I bought soon! Thanks for visiting, Suzy
