I love making Christmas tags during December. In fact I enjoy it way more than actually buying gifts, so it is always done before I start my shopping! Today, I pulled out the Holiday Ornaments stamp set from the STAMPtember release at Simon Says Stamp to make some. It's a set that I hadn't had a chance to use yet and I think it is so cute. The size of the ornaments are perfect for tags! Here is an image of the Holiday Ornaments stamp set with matching dies as a bundle:
I started my tags by stamping ALL of the images in the Holiday Ornaments stamp set with Intense Black Ink on white cardstock. I did multiples of the candies and four of the holly with berries. I colored all of them in with Copic markers. I die-cut them all out with the matching dies. Here are my tags:
I cut some tags out of Silver Glitter Paper using the CZ Nested Tag Dies and the Fanciful Tags Die. I then attached some of my colored images, stamped with black ink and colored with Copic Markers. I die-cut the hanger dies that come with the Holiday Ornaments die set, but then I drew a line on it with a silver Uniball gel pen. I always have a hard time getting a perfectly centered cut on thin line stamps/dies. I used a "happy holidays" that was foiled from one of the Limited Edition card kits in December. The Holiday Greetings was embossed with Rustic Wilderness embossing glaze, but I don't remember what stamp set it is from as I had it in my stash from last year. The "with love at Christmas" was also in my stash, I think from a set a couple years ago. When I'm making tags, I always pull out leftover greetings to use on them as I'm not picky what they say! I tied red bows on the top of each and then I'll attach to packages with twine.
I made this tag with the CZ Nested Tag Dies again using Red Holographic cardstock. I used my colored reindeer ornament on this one. I used a silver Uniball on the top of each ornament. I embossed the "Merry Christmas" from the Holiday Ornaments stamp set with Carnation Red embossing powder on a strip from the SSS Sentiment Label Dies.
This isn't a tag, it's a gift card holder. I used the brand new Gift Card Pocket Die from the Diecember release. I die-cut it from Red Holographic cardstock. This is the outside and it folds on the other side which is where you put the gift card. I embossed the sentiment from the Holiday Ornaments stamp set with Carnation Red embossing powder. I attached my colored ornament and the sentiment to the front of the gift card holder. I added another holly and berries stamp to fill in the open area.
These two tags are made with the Stitched Dress Up Tag Die (on the left) and the Large Tag Die (on the right). I used black cardstock and silver glitter cardstock for the one on the left and a piece of patterned paper I had from last years tag kit for the one on the right. I embossed the sentiments from the stamp set on white cardstock. I used silver embossing powder for the one on the left and cut it out. I used the Sentiment Label dies and antique gold embossing powder for the one on the right. I attached the stamped and colored ornaments to the front of each and the sentiments above them.
Tags are so easy and fun to make as I love working on smaller canvases! I think this Holiday Ornaments stamp set is just perfect for tags and I'm glad I have more to add to my not yet purchased gifts this year! I hope you are all having a wonderful holiday season! Suzy
