Today is the Simon Says Stamp Holiday Sparkle Release! Tomorrow and the next day will be a two day blog hop celebrating this release! You can see some of my creations and TONS of lovely inspiration in the graphic above. In fact, the card I am sharing now is front and center, so see if you can find it. It is my favorite card I have made using the new products (so far). It uses the Antique Lamp Embossing Folder and Dies. Here is an image of the set:
I LOVE LOVE LOVE all of the new embossing folders and dies in this release. They continue to amaze me with these new products as they are so innovative. I just love coloring them with Copics as it is so easy to do on the raised images. And the die-cutting portions makes it even easier as you an color those separately and cover any mistakes you may have made on the background. Here is my card:
I first embossed the Antique Lamp embossing folder with white cardstock. I ran it through the die-cutting machine three times to get a good imprint. I then colored the background with blue Copic markers for the sky around the image. I colored inside the lamp using yellow around the candle and then blending it out to a light blue to match the background. I didn't worry about coloring over the snow on the background (too hard to do!) as I used a white Uniball gel pen over it when I was done coloring the background. (For my winter skies, I always use the following Copic colors: B91, B93, B95, B97, and B99).
Next, I used the cutting dies and die-cut all of the pieces. I taped them inside the embossing folder and embossed them. I then colored them with Copics as well. I used foam tape behind them and attached them over the background piece.
I die-cut a sentiment from the new Missing You at the Holidays sentiment strips and the Honeybee Sentiment Label dies. I attached that over the bottom of the leaves. I used Frosted Lace Stickles over all of the snow on the lantern, berries, and the background. I attached two small silver gems on the sides of the sentiment and one larger one on the inside of the top of the lantern using the Honeybee Back to the Basics Gem Stickers.
Please check out the entire HOLIDAY SPARKLE RELEASE HERE as it is full of amazing products for the holidays. Making holiday cards might be my favorite part of the season and they are definitely my favorite cards I make all year long. Because we get the products before the season actually starts, it always gets me ready and excited for the season too! I hope you enjoyed this card I made using the new Antique Lantern Embossing Folder and Dies. Thanks for visiting and come back tomorrow, Friday, November 11th, for day one of the two day blog hop!
