Today is the Simon Says Stamp DieCember release. It is full of dies of course, but also many more products including stamp sets and lots of specialty papers. I have 3 cards to share with you today all using the Merry and Sweet stamp set as well as some of the stand alone dies in the release. I used this stamp set in my Limited Edition Merry and Sweet holiday tag kit "one stamp, five ways" post where I made 17 tags with it. Here is a link to the post and here are my tags (the kit is still available HERE if you are interested!):
So after making all these tags, I still loved this Merry and Sweet stamp set enough to make 3 cards with it! You can purchase just the stamp set or the stamp with a set of matching dies as a bundle as shown here:
Here are my three cards:
I stamped all images in the Merry and Sweet stamp set with Intense Black Ink on white cardstock. I colored them all in with colored pencils and used a White Uniball and a Silver Uniball for details. I die-cut a rectangle from white cardstock using the second largest rectangle in the Mama Elephant B2B Rectangle dies. I then die-cut a piece of the new SSS Winter Glitter 6x6 Cardstock in white with the same die. I used the new Little Evergreen Trees die with the white cardstock rectangle placing it about 2/3rds up running horizontally. I then stamped a sentiment on the bottom center of this piece with Intense Black Ink. I then attached this piece over the white glitter rectangle with foam tape beneath the bottom of it so it stood up from it. I attached these to a red cardstock card base.
I die-cut all of the images in the Merry and Sweet stamp set using the matching dies. I was very happy to have them since I've made 20 projects with this darling set! I attached them to the front of the card arranging them in a little scene over the background. I always make doubles of the accessories when I stamp the whole set before I start cards which worked out well as I used two of a couple of the items on this card. I used some white flat sequins from the new Winter Glitter sequin mix around the card.
I die-cut a rectangle from white cardstock using the SSS Nested Slimline Rectangle Dies. I die-cut another rectangle from SSS Pawsitively Velvet Luxury Cardstock in Snow White. I used the MFT Slimline Stitched Snowbank dies on the top and the bottom of this rectangle to cut two rectangles. I ended up die-cutting a second rectangle from white cardstock and attaching this top snowbank to it so the velvet was thicker and you couldn't see beneath it. I embossed a sentiment from the stamp set using Ranger Red Geranium embossing powder and I was so happy that you can emboss on this velvet paper! I then applied Saltwater Taffy Distress Oxide Ink with a SSS Brush to the top of the other white cardstock rectangle. Did you follow all that? haha I attached the two velvet snowbanks to the inked rectangle using foam tape behind the front one that is backed with white cardstock.
I stamped all of the images in the Merry and Sweet stamp set and colored them in with Copic Markers. I then die-cut them out with the matching dies. I arranged them over the background using foam tape behind the top of each so they were the same height as the top snow bank.
I colored over the black ink on the snowflakes with a silver Uniball gel pen. They would have looked good embossed with silver embossing powder instead! I attached those around my coral sky (why?!!!). I then attached this entire piece to a piece of the new Luxe Glitter Cardstock Classic in silver cut to be 8.5" x 3.5". I attached that to a white card base.
I die-cut the new Joy to You plate die from white cardstock twice. I used a metal plate for one of them so it cut through the letters well. I wanted the letters to stay in place on my first one cut without the steel plate. I colored all the letters with Copic Markers using Coral R35 and used Cadmium Red R27 along the edges. I attached the second die over the first one and glued the colored letters inside of it. I attached foam tape behind it. I cut a piece of SSS Crimson glitter paper to be A2 card size. I then die-cut a white cardstock frame with the A2 Thin Frame Die and glued that to the outside of it. I attached all of this to a white card base. I removed the backing from the foam tape and attached the Joy to You die in the center of the red glitter paper.
I stamped just the accessory stamps in the Merry and Sweet stamp set with Latte Pawsitively Saturated Ink. I colored them all in with Copic Markers primarily using the same two red colors. I then used some lighter coral colors as well. I die-cut them out with the matching dies and attached them over the front of the Joy to You die. I covered the little tree with several of them overlapping. I used a silver Uniball over the snowflakes again. I hung some off the edges. I then added some Sparkling Clear Sequins around the card on the red cardstock and the white areas.
Now that's a lot of creations using the Merry and Sweet stamp set - and YES, it is my favorite stamp in this release. Well, maybe not as I have a "one stamp, five ways" post to share with you during day one of the two day blog hop celebrating the DieCember release using the new Sweet Tooth stamp set which I also love! I just love to color and I love whimsical designs so both of these stamps really appealed to me. Oh, and did I mention I love Christmas?!!!! Thanks so much for visiting and I'll see you on Friday!
