Today is the release of the last Simon Says Stamp Limited Edition kit for this 2022 holiday season called the Merry and Sweet Holiday Tag Kit. I have a "one stamp, five ways" post to share with you tonight using the kit and the Merry and Sweet stamp set that is in it. The stamp is sold alone or with a set of matching dies as a bundle. Here is an image of the kit:
I absolutely ADORE this kit. It is so me in the colors and the whimsical feel. I had a lot of fun creating with it and ended up making 17 tags! And I feel like I was just getting started as I have so much left to make a bunch more! I'll have to find gift wrap that matches the feel of this kit since all of my tags this year will be from it!
I used the tags in the kit as well as three tag dies by SSS to make the tags below. The tag dies are the Large Tag dies, the CZ Nested Tag dies, and the Stitched Dress Up Tag die. I photographed my 17 tags in groupings, so I'll explain how I made each one in the group below that photo. I didn't want to overwhelm you with 17 photos haha.
I made the tag on the left with the Large Tag Dies. I die-cut the tag from both white cardstock and one of the patterned papers in the kit. I attached it to the cardstock so it would be thicker. I embossed a sentiment from the Merry and Sweet stamp set with Carnation Red embossing powder on one of the small round tags in the kit. I attached that to the top of the tag and tied Lawn Fawn Sweetheart twine through it. I used one of the Craft Consortium Candy Christmas chipboard shapes on the bottom of the tag. I stamped all of the images in the Merry and Sweet stamp set with the Cappuccino Pawsitively Saturated Ink in the kit. I colored them with colored pencils. I used one of the candy cane images above the chipboard image on this tag. I glued a Red and White Confection candy to the top and used some Vintage Chalk Stick Nuvo Drops around the tag.
For the tag in the center, I used the Stitched Dress Up Tag Die. I die-cut it from one of the papers in the kit and white cardstock. I glued the white top from the tag die over the paper. I stamped a sentiment from the stamp set with Intense Black Ink on a strip from the SSS Sentiment Label Dies. I attached that to the bottom of the tag. I used a gingerbread boy, a candy cane, and a heart from my stamped images colored with colored pencils on the middle of the tag. I used a bow on the top from some red ribbon in my stash.
For the tag on the right, I used the CZ Nested Tag Die and Silver Glitter Cardstock. I stamped the to and from in the stamp set on one of the silver rimmed circle tags in the kit and attached that to the top of the tag. I added some sweetheart twine to the top of the tag. I glued one of my colored gingerbread houses from the Merry and Sweet stamp set on the center of the tag. I used one of the little hearts to look like it was coming out of the chimney.
This is NOT a good photo, so I wasn't going to use it. But I do like the technique, so I'll show it to you anyway. Plus these took some time to color! I used two of the kraft tags in the kit for these tags. I stamped the images from the Merry and Sweet stamp set on them with Cappuccino ink. I colored them in with colored pencils and used a white Uniball to add details and snow on the bottom. I embossed sentiments and snowflakes on the top with white embossing powder and added some white Nuvo drops. I tied blue bows in the top of each. The gingerbread boy tag is made with the Gingerbread Tag die in the kit and kraft cardstock and white cardstock. I used some Cappuccino ink around the edges. He got really washed out in this picture, but looks ok in real life haha.
I made these two cards using the two Large Tag dies. I used the Twirling Embossing Folder in the kit on both tags and then colored them with Copic markers (not a quick technique, but fun none-the-less!). I tied blue bows in the top of each. I used some of the chipboard images in the Craft Consortium Candy Christmas chipboard shapes to each tag. I stamped the heart and used Honey Gold Nuvo Drops over it. I stamped the sentiments on SSS Sentiment Label dies using the Merry and Sweet stamp set. The one on the left is stamped with Cappuccino ink and the one on the right is embossed with Kirsch Flamingo embossing glaze.
These tags are also die-cut using the Large Tag Dies by SSS which come with both of these shapes using white cardstock. I embossed the sentiment on the right tag with Red Geranium embossing powder on one of the small gold rimmed circle tags in the kit. I attached that to the top of the tag and tied some Sweetheart twine in it. I took a piece of the green trim in the kit and colored it with Copics to match my colored images. I stamped a sentiment from the stamp set on it with Intense Black ink and stapled it to the bottom of the other tag. I used more of the images that I colored with colored pencils on both of these tags. I used a silver Uniball gel pen over the snowflakes. I added some Nuvo Drops over all of the small dots on the gingerbread house and over the packages on the tag on the right. I used Metallic Silver Nuvo drops in the center of the snowflake and Ruby Slipper Nuvo drops around the tag background on the right.
I used two of the small red tags in the kit for these two tags. I attached some of my same stamped images to both of them which were stamped with the Cappuccino ink in the kit and colored with colored pencils. I stamped sentiments from the Merry and Sweet stamp set on SSS Sentiment Labels and attached those to the top of each tag. I used Nuvo Glitter Drops all over the images to decorate them and Metallic Silver drops on the background of the tag on the left and Chalk Stick Nuvo drops on the background of the tag on the right.
Both of these tags were made using the Stitched Dress Up Tag die and some of the patterned papers in the Craft Consortium Candy Christmas 6x6 paper pad. I used the two tag toppers die-cut from white cardstock. I embossed the "to and from" sentiments with Red Geranium embossing powder on a circle cut from the Merry and Sweet matching dies. The images on the left tag are from the Merry and Sweet stamp set that I stamped with cappuccino ink and colored with colored pencils. I also stamped a set of the images from the stamp set with Intense Black Ink and colored with Copic Markers and some of those were used on the tag on the right. I used a Silver Uniball Gel Pen for the pan and the stick. I stamped the sentiment on the right tag with pink ink on a SSS Sentiment Label Die. I decorated them with some Nuvo Glitter Drops and tied red bows on the top of each tag.
I used two of the large white tags in the kit for these tags. I sprayed them with the Holiday Tim Holtz Mica Stains in the kit. I used Cocktail Party on the one on the left and Shiny Bauble with some Cocktail party sprayed over it on the one on the right. I attached two strips of the green ribbon in the kit to the bottom of the one on the left and some of the green trim in the kit to the bottom of the one on the right. I used some of the Craft Consortium Candy Christmas chipboard shapes on both tags. I stamped the sentiment on the left with pink ink and the one on the right I embossed with white embossing powder. I added some of the banner trim to the top of the pink tag and then tied ribbon bows in the top of both. I added some Chalk Stick Nuvo drops to both.
I used two more of the large white tags in the kit for these and they are almost as large as cards! I again strapped them with the two Holiday Tim Holtz Mica Stains in the kit. I cut a piece of white glitter paper to use as snow on the bottom of each tag since I planned on having them run horizontal. I used images that I stamped from the Merry and Sweet stamp set with Intense Black Ink and colored them with Copic Markers. I arranged them over the snow on both tags to create little scenes. I added snowflakes colored with a silver uniball to the top of each. I embossed sentiments from the stamp set on the top of each with Wow ebony black embossing powder. I decorated them with Nuvo Drops and tied ribbons in the top of each.
Whew - that was a lot of tags! I hope you enjoyed all of these creations I made using the SSS Limited Edition Merry and Sweet Holiday Tag Kit!!! If you don't want to buy the whole kit, I highly advise getting the Merry and Sweet stamp set as it is just darling and was the star of all of these tags! Thanks so much for visiting today! Suzy
