Simon Says Stamp has just released a Limited Edition Holiday Card Kit called Festive Feathered Friends. I have a "one stamp, five ways" post to share with you today using the kit, with focus on the 6x8" stamp set also called Festive Feathered Friends stamp. There is a matching set os Festive Feathered Friends dies that I didn't have, so I fussy cut all of my images. Many of the items in the kit are sold individually and are listed in the supply list at the end of this post. Here is an image of the kit:
And here are my five plus cards and tags:
I think this card uses almost every product in the kit! I stamped ALL of the images in the Festive Feathered Friends stamp set with Pawsitively Saturated Ink in Latte. I colored all of them in with colored pencils before starting any of the cards. I ended up outlining all of them with a very fine tip Micron pen. I fussy cut them all out. I used the images on my 4 cards. I tried to keep this partridge true to the natural colors they are.
I made the background with a mixture of patterned papers and ephemera in the kit. I layered them on the front of a cream card base. I added a row of the tree trim and a bow with the twine that came with the tags in the kit. I attached the stamped image over the background with foam tape behind it. I embossed the sentiment from the stamp set with Antique Gold embossing powder on cream cardstock and cut around it. I attached it to the top right corner with foam tape behind it. I added some gold gems from the Honey Bee Back to Basics Gem Stickers.
For the background of this card, I used the Holly Jolly Berries embossing folder. I colored it with the two Spectrum Noir Jade Green Blend and Dark Red Blend that are in the kit. I had never used the Spectrum Noir TriBlend Alcohol Markers and I loved them! I ended up buying a few more after I used these. Each marker has 3 colors of the same shade and the blend together beautifully. I used a white Uniball gel pen to add lines to each item and dots to the berries. I also use it to clean up my mistakes.
I cut it down and mounted it on a jade green cardstock card base. I die-cut the "happy holidays wafer die" in the kit from white cardstock. I colored the letters with the Jade Spectrum Noir marker. I attached that to the bottom of the card with foam tape beneath. I used my colored mallard duck above it. I realize that mallards are boys, but I pretended daddy was keeping the eggs warm so he could match my card!
I used the mini slimline rectangle die with white cardstock for the background. I then attached a piece of the patterned paper across it and attached it to a Kraft cardstock card base. I attached the ephemera frame on the left side of the paper. The snowflake stamp fits over the swan stamp. I used a silver Uniball gel pen over the snowflakes. I realized I should have embossed them with silver embossing powder after I did it this way! I attached the swan over the frame with foam tape behind leaving it open at the bottom.
I tied some of the twine that is with the tags in the kit on the bottom of the tag. I used the Sterling Labels embossing folder and cutting dies for the sentiment. I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set (cut it apart) on the oval. I rubbed embossing ink over the frame and embossed it with Silver Embossing Powder. I attached that to the left side of the card. I added some silver gems from the Honeybee Back to Basics gem stickers to the sides of the frame and the background. I also added some white flat sequins.
This was my last stamped image that I colored with colored pencils and outlined with a fine tip black marker. I tried to keep these guys true to color again. I made the background of the card with the black/gold patterned paper in the kit. I attached it to a cream cardstock card base.
Over the paper, I attached one of the cream tags and a flower from the ephemera pack. I then attached the stamped image over those with foam tape behind. I stamped a sentiment from the stamp set on a cream sentiment strip and attached that over the background. I tied a bow with the twine that came with the tags and attached it over the hole in the tag. I added some black gems from the Honeybee Back to Basics Gem Stickers.
I made this tag using the Large Standard Tag Die from the backing in the ephemera pack. I liked the texture and color of this backing, so I thought it would make nice tags! I die-cut the Partridge Wafer-Die from white cardstock as well as from the navy patterned paper in the kit. I attached that over the tag and colored the bird in with Copic markers. I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set on a tan banner and attached it to the top of the tag. I tied a twine bow and attached it to the top of the tag and another piece inside the hole in the tag to tie to a present.
I made all of these tags with tags die-cut from the Large Standard Tag Die and the Stitched Dress Up Tags. I also made some with the tags in the kit. I added ephemera from the kit layered over each tag. I then added some gold highlights with a gold pen. I added sentiments from the stamp set on some as well. I rubbed a rose gold ink pad over the edges of some of the tags and over the sentiment strips. The pic below shows that I tied some of the twine in the top of each tag.
I hope you enjoyed this "one stamp, five ways" post using the Limited Edition Holiday Card Kit "Festive Feathered Friends". I love this kit because it is a little different in theme than most holiday kits! I thought it was fun to use different birds on my cards and tags. It also has SUCH a large variety of products in it which is why all of my cards look so different, also allowing me to make LOTS of tags and have a ton leftover for more. Thanks so much for visiting!
