Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember Release: Flourishing Bloom Plate

I finally have time to use some of the SSS STAMPtember release products and there are A LOT of them! I am enjoying some free time over here and took about a week off of working after crazy September. I have a card to share with you today using the Flourishing Bloom Plate. Here is an image:

I think this is such a gorgeous die. I love coloring embossing folders, so I thought this would be fun to color with Copics as well. I never use pencils for this type of thing as it would be too hard to color the edges. I also used two other new products - the Fab Floral Pinpoint Plate die and the Thanks die. Here is my card:

I die-cut the Flourishing Bloom Plate out of white cardstock. I used a metal shim and ran it through the die-cut machine twice to make sure I got a good cut. I then colored it with Copic Markers. I used pinks and purples on the flowers and greens for the leaves and frame. I think the frame would have looked nice in a gold or another color, but I went with this color so the leaves blended into it. I used dark colored pencils to add a little bit more shading on the flowers and leaves in the grooves.  

Now came the difficult part. I couldn't decide what to attach it to. It didn't look good on just white paper. I liked it on lots of the pin point plates, but I went with this one since it was also in the STAMPtember release called the Floral Pinpoint Plate. I attached some foam tape to the back of the flowers and then used wet glue to attach the frame to the pinpoint plate. 

Next came the hard decision of how to attach a greeting over this very busy background. I went with the new Thanks Die as I liked the way it tucked into the center of the Flourishing Bloom Plate. I colored the inside of the letters to match the flowers using Copics. I kept the outside white so it would blend into the background and not become too much of the focal point. I added some sparkling clear sequins around it. I used Yellow Brick Road Vintage Nuvo Drops ion the center of the flowers. 

This card was really fun to make as I love love love to color! I was happy to be able to use 3 of the STAMPtember new products including the Flourishing Bloom Plate, the Fab Floral Pinpoint Plate, and the Thanks die.
