Today I have a card to share that will make you think it's Thanksgiving time already and we haven't even had Halloween yet. I wanted to use the 6x8" stamp set called Turkey Day from the Cozy Hugs release. I love a turkey card that says "I'm thankful for vegetarians!". That greeting made me laugh, so of course I used it. You can purchase just the stamp set or the stamp with a set of matching dies as a bundle. Here is an image of the bundle:
And here is my card:
I made the background using the SSS Nested Slimline Rectangle Dies. I applied Pawsitively Saturated Ink to it using a rounded foam applicator by Ranger. I used Trio 10 - Latte and Cappuccino on the bottom of the card front and I used Trio 9 - Melon and Cantaloupe on the top of the card. I attached this to a white card base.
I stamped all of the images in the Turkey Day stamp set with Intense Black Ink on white cardstock. I did doubles of the small and large pumpkins, the acorns and the leaves. I colored them all in with colored pencils. I added white lines with a White Uniball Gel Pen. I die-cut them out with the matching dies.
I stamped the sentiment on the sign with Lawn Fawn Doe Ink. I then went over it with a brown colored pencil to it matched the images better. I attached them all with foam tape behind the top of each turkey and the smaller pumpkins that were out front. I added Nuvo Drops in Copper Penny, Bottle Green, and Mustard Gold around the turkeys. I used Glitter Drops in Fall colors over the leaves and acorns.
This card made with the Turkey Day stamp and die bundle makes me wonder if I should eat a turkey this year. Hmmmm. Yes, Yes, I think I still will. I'll hide the card though or give it away so it's not staring at me on the big day. Happy early Thanksgiving to all (((especially the turkeys))). xoxo suzy
