I haven't posted to my blog for a week! I have family here, so I took a week off. I'm back! I made a card today using three products from the new SSS Cozy Hugs Release. I started with the Festive Festoon embossing folder, then used the Sterling Labels embossing folder and cutting dies, and finished with the Layered Warbler die. I know, I know - I've used a lot of birds on my cards lately. I love birds! Here are images of these three products:
Here is my card:
I started by embossing the Festive Festoon embossing folder with white cardstock. I then colored it with Copic markers. I used a few sharp colored pencils to add shading and depth to the flowers. I used a white Uniball gel pen to add lines on the flowers. I die-cut this piece with the SSS A2 Thin Frame Die and attached it to Heffy Doodle Cornflower cardstock.
Next, I used the Sterling Label embossing folder and cutting dies to make the label. I die-cut it out of white cardstock first and then out of a dark blue paper scrap I had (darker than card base, but I liked it). I embossed the blue one and glued it to the white one (that was not embossing) so it was thicker. I then die-cut a sentiment from the Grateful and Thankful Sentiment Strips using the same frame die so it fit inside of it. I attached the frame and the inside sentiment to foam tape and attached them to the bottom of the card.
I then die-cut the Layered Warbler die from white cardstock. I colored all of the pieces with Copics and then added details and shading with colored pencils. I put foam tape behind him and attached him over the sentiment banner. I used Chalk Stick Nuvo Drops over the eye and let it dry. Then I added a black dot in the center with Black Board Nuvo Drops. I used some sparkling clear sequins around the sentiment.
I still have LOTS of cards to make using the Cozy Hugs release as I want to try out every single product! I'll be back tomorrow night with a card using several other dies from the release. Thanks so much for visiting and have a great week! Suzy
