I have another card to share using one of the Simon Says Stamp Cozy Hugs Release embossing folders. I actually used three of the embossing folders on this card! I made the card with the Forest Floor Embossing Folder as the background. I then used the Sterling Labels Embossing Folder and Cutting Dies, and Autumn Knits Embossing Folder and Dies. Here are images of the three embossing folders:
Here is my card:
I started this card by embossing the Forest Floor Embossing Folder. I then used my usual technique by coloring all of the raised images with Copic Markers. I added some lines inside the embossed lines with colored pencils to add additional shading. I die-cut this piece with the SSS A2 Thin Frame Dies (largest one) and then attached it to a burnt orange card base. I just LOVE the way this embossing folder looks colored - it's so pretty in all these Fall colors. And yes, for once I love Fall colors!
I then die-cut the acorn in the Autumn Knits Embossing Folder and Cutting Dies using Kraft cardstock. I positioned it inside the embossing folder and ran it through the die-cut machine again. I love this set so much with the little petals on each design. I colored the top with a Gold Uniball gel pen and then added some details with Copic Markers. I attached that to the bottom right side of the card front.
I then used the Sterling Labels Embossing Folder and Cutting Dies to make the sentiment label. I die-cut it first out of white cardstock. I then rubbed embossing ink all over the frame and embossed it with SSS Antique Gold embossing powder. I rubbed some darker bronze glittery ink over it to make it look aged. I used the same label die over the Sassy T-Day Sentiment Labels to cut out a sentiment for the inside of the frame. I love that several of these Sterling Labels have inside pieces that fit perfectly over all of the sentiment label sets. I used foam tape behind it and attached it to the left of the acorn. I used some Metallic Copper Penny Nuvo Drops over the acorn. I used those and Mustard Gold Nuvo Drops around the background to fill in open spaces.
I blogged another card last night using the same Sterling Labels embossing folder and cutting dies as well as the new Friendly Birds embossing folder and cutting dies. I realize that coloring embossing folders with Copics is not for everyone! There are much quicker ways to use these folders, but I love to color, so this way makes me happy. Here is an image of that card and you can see the blog post here.
There is a two day blog hop celebrating this new release with tons of inspiration using all of the new products on Friday and Saturday. I hope you will join us for the fun and visit me on day 1 (Friday, October 7th). I'll have another card to share using one of the new embossing folders from the COZY HUGS release! See you soon! xoxo suzy
