Today is the release of the November card kit for Simon Says Stamp called Full of Thanks. If you aren't in the fall mood yet, you will be after this blog post haha. Here is an image of the kit:
My "one stamp, five ways" post uses the stamp set in the card kit called Full of Thanks. It's a 6x8" stamp set that is sold alone and you can also buy a set of matching dies. Here is an image of the stamp set:
I always use the stamp in my five cards on kit blog posts, but this time, I used almost JUST the stamp from the kit. Or more, I really focused on the stamp. I liked it, so don't blame me haha. Here we go:
CARD 1:
My first card is a slimline card, so of course I started by die-cutting a slimline rectangle using the SSS Nested Slimline Rectangle Dies die-cut out of white cardstock. I then applied Latte and Fawn Pawsitively Saturated Inks using SSS brushes. I applied it lightly in the center away from the edges. I attached it to an orange cardstock base that came in the kit. I then stamped all of the images in the Full of Thanks stamp set with Latte Ink on white cardstock. I colored them all in with colored pencils. I then decided I wanted lines, but I wanted them to be really subtle, so I used a .005 Micron. I used a white Uniball to add some details.
I fussy cut all of the images out - I know, crazy, huh? If I had the option to buy the dies and you really like this stamp set, I would do it. It was a lot of work because I used so many of the stamped images on this card. I arranged them all along the bottom of the card. I cut off one side of the stamp that is shaped like a U and then covered that area so you couldn't tell. I tucked a few of the individual pieces under the main two pieces. I embossed a sentiment on a banner using Nuvo Copper Mine embossing powder that has glitter in it. I used a bunch of Nuvo drops around the images and banner including Mustard Gold, Copper Penny, Golden Sunset Glitter, Ripened Pumpkin, and Moroccan Flame. Why do they have to have so many good fall colors? I can never stop!
CARD 2:
For the background of this card, I used the Leafy Greens embossing folder. I rubbed Pawsitively Saturated Inks on it in Aspen and Sage from Trio 14. I die-cut it with the A2 Thin Frame Dies. I attached it to a white card base. I stamped the largest grouping in the stamp set on white cardstock with black ink. I used the matching stencil in the kit and Pawsitively Saturated Inks to color it. I used the Detail Round Brushes and the Detail Flat Brushes and it was super fun to do and not that hard.
I attached the image to the bottom of the card with foam tape behind it. I then stamped a sentiment from the stamp set on a dark orange banner with white embossing powder and attached that to the top right side of the card. I added some gold sequins from the SSS Autumn Mix.
CARD 3:
Another embossing folder background on this card! This time I embossed the Sparkling Facets embossing folder with white cardstock. I then rubbed several colors of Pawsitively Saturated Ink on it including Melon, Lemonade, Latte, and Fawn. I then rubbed the small Tsukineko Golden Glitz ink pad over the raised portions so it has a nice sheen to it. I die-cut it with the A2 Thin Frame Die and attached it to a white card base.
I stamped the frame stamp and a few of the individual flowers and leaves with Latte Ink and colored them in with colored pencils. I also outlined these with a fine tip black Micron. I embossed a sentiment in the middle using Antique Gold embossing powder. I attached that to the center of the card with foam tape behind it. I added the extra flowers and leaves around the frame. I used the same Autumn Mix sequins and the same Nuvo drop colors mentioned above. I also used the Copper Penny ones over the center of the flowers.
CARD 4:
This card is a little out of my comfort zone. Just not sure I like it, so I'll let you decide. I've never left a background black and white. Still don't know if I should have, but if I colored it, the card would have been too busy. I stamped the Overlapping Drops cling stamp on white cardstock with Intense Black Ink. I die-cut it and attached it to a yellow card base. I thought these were leaves, but now I think seeing the name of the stamp set, they are drops. Well, there went me furthering the theme of this card haha!
I stamped several of the stamps in the stamp set with Intense Black Ink on white cardstock. I stamped all of them, but the largest grouping. I colored them all in with Copic Markers. I think Copics are the quickest way to color for me anyway. I inserted the frame stamp into the U-shaped stamp, tucking it under the pumpkin. It actually fits perfectly! I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set with black ink inside the frame (had to cut it apart). I added 3 of the leaves under the pumpkin to better fill that area under the sentiment. I added a sunflower to the top to fill that area. I love how all these stamped images worked together, just not sure about the background on this one! I used Golden Sunset Glitter Drops over the frame. I added some more Nuvo drops in all the fall colors around the sentiment. I also used some of the Autumn Mix Sequins. They worked well on all of these cards.
CARD 5:
This is the simplest and probably easiest card and it is my favorite believe it or not. I die-cut a rectangle using the SSS Mini Slimline Rectangle Die with Arches watercolor paper. I embossed the largest design with Antique Gold embossing powder on the bottom left. I painted it in with Karin Brushmarkers. I love how they work with embossed images. The colors move when you add water which can be a problem when not using embossing powder, but it keeps them where they belong. I also added some color around the image. I just used a wet brush to move colors around the image. I also flicked some dark red blotches over it.
I embossed two of the sentiments in the top right corner using WOW Gitty's Power embossing powder. I added some guess what? Some Autumn Mix sequins and also some of the different Nuvo Drops already mentioned.
And that's it! I hope you enjoyed this "one stamp, five ways" post using the Full of Thanks November Card Kit. If you just want the stamp set, it is available for purchase as well alone or with the matching dies. Thanks so much for visiting and I hope you all have a great weekend! Suzy
I love your black and white background. It's one of my favorite examples of this card kit. It makes the background interesting without distracting from the focus of the colored Autumn Stamp set. Well done
