Today's collaboration stamp set for STAMPtember is with Whimsy Stamps and is called Pawsitively Awesome. It is sold alone or with a set of matching dies. Here is an image of the bundle:
I made ANOTHER slimline card to share with you! If you hate slimline cards, still stay around as I think the technique I used here would work just as well on an A2 sized card!
I stamped all of the images in the Pawsitively Awesome stamp set with Intense Black Ink on white cardstock first. I then colored them all in with colored pencils. I stamped a couple of the sentiments in black ink as well. I also stamped two of the smaller hearts. I didn't want this to look like a Valentine's Day card so I threw in the color aqua while coloring the stamped images.
I cut around all of the images since I didn't have the matching dies. I used a white Uniball to add lines to them all. I used a silver Uniball on the glasses. Next, I made the background. I die-cut a rectangle using the SSS Slimline Rectangle Dies. I then used two colors of Pawsitively Saturated Ink to ink blend this piece. I used Seafoam and Surf with a large SSS Brush on the background. I used Seafoam over the entire piece and then the darker color, Surf over just the edges. I then "randomly stamped" all of the small images in the stamp set over the background with Surf to create a subtle tone or tone background for my stamped images.
I then attached the background to a white slimline card base. I used foam tape behind all of the stamped images and layered them over the front of the card. I cut off the hands of the bottom dog and then glued the hands over the heart. I attached the two stamped sentiments over the two large hearts. I used some Vintage Nuvo Drops in Chalk Stick and Black Board around the stamped items.
This Pawsitively Awesome stamp set by Whimsy stamps surprised me. I didn't think I would like it very much, but when I used it I realized how cute it is. It has so many different stamps to use for a background and lots more to use for the items on top. I also like the font they used for the sentiments. Considering I have a brand new black and white puppy, it ended up appealing to me quite a bit! Thanks so much for visiting today. You can see all of the collab sets here and all of the STAMPtember release here. Suzy
