My Favorite Things is the STAMPtember collaboration stamp set with Simon Says Stamp today. I love this 4x6" set so much called "Owl-ways My Favorite" and is an adorable bunch of owls as you will see in my card! You can buy just the Owl-ways My Favorite stamp set or you can buy the stamp and the die as a bundle. Here is an image of the bundle:
And here is my card:
I had no idea what my card design was going to be when I started - it just kind of figured itself out. I stamped all of the owls in the Owl-ways My Favorite stamp set twice and the tree branches twice and the tree stump three times. I used Latte Pawsitively Saturated Ink which works great with pencils and Copics for no-line stamping. I colored them all in with colored pencils. I then cut all these little guys out as I didn't have the matching dies. I decided to color them in really bright non-realistic colors just for fun.
I then decided how I could fit all of these images I had colored onto a card and this design was born. I inked the background with Pawsitively Saturated Inks in Celery and Limelicious on the bottom and Marine and Seafoam on the top using the largest SSS brushes. The inks are "re-active", so I splattered some water on them and dabbed it off for small splotches. I die-cut this piece with the SSS A2 Thin Frame Die and attached it to a white card base.
I then attached all of the images using foam tape beneath them all. I was so happy that the new SSS Foam Tape is thinner and fit perfectly on the back of these small stamps. I used a white Uniball gel pen to add lines to each of them. I cut apart one of the sentiments and stamped it in the top left corner with Intense Black Ink. I used Glossy Accents on all of the owls eyes. I then used Nuvo Jewel Drops in the background in Aqua Plains and Iceberg Blue.
I think these owls are so cute colored in bright colors, maybe because I love bright colors! This "Owl-ways My Favorite" stamp set is soooo cute and I know it will sell out quickly, so if you are interested you can find the stamp set here and the stamp and die bundle here. Thanks so much for visiting today! Suzy
