Simon Says Stamp came out with a 6" x 8" stamp set in the Dream Big release called Take Note. I used it today for a slimline card to share with you today. Here is an image of the stamp and the matching set of dies which I didi not use. They can be purchased as a bundle as shown here:
And here is my card:
I die-cut the largest rectangle in the SSS Nested Rectangle Dies from white cardstock. I then stamped the large grouping of pens/pencils/scissors from the Take Note stamp set with Intense Black Ink on the left side of the rectangle. I then stamped a portion of it again to the right of that one (by blocking off some of it with a piece of scrap paper). I also stamped the single pencil in a couple spots and the paper clip in others. I tried to fill out the space completely.
I colored all of the images in with Copic Markers. I used a Silver Uniball gel pen for the top of the pens. I drew a shadow around all of the images with a gray colored pencil. I added some streaks on the pens with a White Uniball gel pen. I attached this piece to a piece of Black Glossy Cardstock and made a card base to go under it.
I stamped the large sentiment with Intense Black Ink. I then embossed it with SSS Clear Embossing Powder to it would stand out more. I stamped two additional sentiments to the right of the large one with black ink as well. I then used some Nuvo drops around the sentiments in Red Berry, Dandelion Yellow and Black Board.
I ended up really liking this card - I think the black makes it. This Take Note stamp set would work great for school cards as well. I think I have used almost ALL of the Dream Big products for blog posts now! Thanks so much for visiting! Suzy
