It's officially STAMPtember at Simon Says Stamp which is the most fun month of the year in the card making industry! They have a HUGE product release on September 1st and then they release collaboration stamp sets with different stamp companies almost each day of the month. On the other days, there are more surprises which means 30 days of fun, fun, fun! Today I have a card using two of the new STAMPtember products. I used the Black Eyed Susans stamp set and die as shown here:
Next, I used a new embossing folder called the Sparkling Facets Embossing Folder as shown below:
And here is my card:
I first used the Black Eyed Susans stamp set for the flowers and the bee. I stamped them with Latte Pawsitively Saturated Ink and then colored them with colored pencils. Because I wanted the flowers to be white, I just outlined them with a light gray and did a little bit of grade shading on the petals. I used a white Uniball gel pen over all of the petals so they have a gloss to them and don't look flat. I used the pencils to draw little circular lines around the centers of the flowers and used a lighter color on the top and a darker color on the bottom so they look dimensional. On the leaves, I didn't blend the pencils well as I wanted there to be lines on them.
I also colored the cute little bee stamp and then I die-cut all of them out with the matching set of Black Eyed Susan dies. I then started thinking about a background. I tried so many patterned papers which I always do and never end up using them! I then realized the new Sparkling Facets Embossing Folder would be a perfect background because it isn't that busy. I rubbed Lemonade and Sunbeam Pawsitively Saturated Ink on the raised portions of the embossing folder. I then ran it through my die-cut machine 3 times for the best image possible.
I die-cut this piece with the largest die in the SSS A2 Thin Frame Dies and attached it to a yellow card base that matched the yellow inks. I then attached all of the flowers with the NEW SSS foam tape behind the top portions of the flowers and glue under the bottom. I had to slightly trim the bottom edges of the stems off. I stamped a sentiment from the Black Eyed Susans stamp set with Intense Black Ink and die-cut it out with the matching dies (it makes me so happy when die sets have dies for the sentiments!). I attached that to the bottom of the card with foam tape underneath over the bottom of the stems. I added the bee to the top of the card. I also used some sparkling clear sequins around the background.
The STAMPtember release is so full of exciting new products - you have to check out the entire release. You can also see the gallery with all projects made with this release HERE. This Black Eyed Susans Stamp is definitely one of my favorites in the release. I have another blog post using the Butterfly Ranunculus Stamp set which is also a favorite - you can see that post HERE. Thanks so much for visiting today! Suzy
I love your technique and the card. Thanks for the good explanation.

Very pretty! I really like the lines on your leaves, pretty affect! Great use of that embossing folder, the touches of yellow are just right for the flowers & bee without being too busy or overpowering. Just lovely!
