Today I have a slimline card to share with you using the gorgeous Altenew 6" x 8" stamp set called Castle Garden. I think it was released a while ago, but I just bought it and love it! It also has a matching set of dies, but I didn't buy them as I usually do flat cards with flowers. Here is an image of the stamp set:
And here is my card:
I used my usual SSS Slimline Nested Rectangle Die to die-cut the white cardstock. I then stamped some of the floral images down this piece using SSS Latte Pawsitively Saturated Ink. It's the same color as my usual MFT Natural Ink which I think they have discontinued, so I switched over for my no-line stamping.
I colored all the images in with colored pencils for a very soft look. I use a variety of pencils including Polychromos by Faber Castelle, Luminance and Pablo by Caran d'ache, and Prismacolor. I like different things about each brand, so having them all works well for me! I also use the Luminance white pencils a lot to soften and blend colors - you can purchase them at SSS in a 3 pack which is a good deal.
I used a Micron .05 tip pen to outline the flower centers. I attached this colored piece to a piece of Bubblegum Blush cardstock by Heffy Doodle (a new color I love). I stamped my sentiment (from the Castle Garden stamp set) with Intense Black Ink. I had to cut it into two pieces to fit. I added some sparkling clear sequins to finish the card. It is very soft and pretty.
I made this card for my mom as she loves flowers and I'm going to visit her tomorrow. She isn't doing well health wise, so it will be a tough trip, but I hope this card cheers her a little. She is my biggest fan (and possibly only haha). Thanks for visiting and I hope you love this Castle Garden stamp set as much as I do! Suzy
