Today is the first day of a two day blog hop celebrating the release called Dream Big by Simon Says Stamp. Yesterday, this release went live and I posted this card below using several of the new release products including the Lemon Zest Wafer Die, the Dibble Dot Embossing Folder, the Big and Bold Stamp and Die, and the Reverse Be You Sentiment Strips. You can see the blog post with more photos and the directions for the card HERE.
Today I want to share with you another card using the new Terrace Floral Embossing Folder and Die and the Reverse Be You Sentiment Strips.
I've become really into coloring embossing folders with Copic markers. It is easy to do as the raised edges of the embossed images keep the color where you want it! I first embossed the new Terrace Folder embossing folder using white cardstock. I always spray it with a light mist of water using a Ranger Misting Tool. This allows the paper to absorb the embossed images better. I also run it through three times making sure the folder doesn't slip in any way so the image is clear. I embossed it again with white cardstock the same way and then used the matching die that comes with the embossing folder to die cut the middle floral image out.
I then colored all of the flowers on the main embossed piece with Copic Markers. I used colored pencils to add some outlines around the outside edges. I also colored the embossed flower I had die-cut out with the same colors of Copic markers. I cut the image out to be a little smaller than my A2 card base and attached it to a piece of cardstock by Heffy Doodle called Wildberry. It is the perfect color for vibrant pinkish purple colors of Copics that I use often. I used R0000, RV000, RV00, RV02, and RV17 for the flowers, T7 and 100 for the centers of the flowers, and YG01, YG03, YG23, YG25 and G07 for the leaves.
I attached the die-cut flower to a white rectangle I had in my stash (from a Pretty Pink Posh Storybook die way back in the day!) and used foam tape beneath it to attach it to the bottom of the card. I then die-cut a sentiment from the Reverse Be You sentiment strips with a sentiment die I had in my stash and attached that below the white rectangle. I added some sparkling clear sequins around the flower on the white rectangle.
