I have one more card to share with you using the Simon Says Stamp Dream Big release. The four cards I've shared are all in the banner above - see if you can find them! I blogged the Lemon Zest and Dibble Dot Embossing Folder card HERE (see on the left side of banner), the Terrace Floral Embossing Folder card HERE (on the bottom left side of banner), the Born to Sparkle card HERE (on the top right side of banner), and today the Intricate Ginkgo Leaves and Bohemian Background Hot Foil Plate card (shown center right on banner).
Here are the two products I used in today's card:
And here is my card:
I started by using my Glimmer Hot Foil System to foil the Bohemian Background Hot Foil Plate using Teal Foil. I have purchased every color of foil available at SSS from Spellbinders and I ended up using quite a few of them on this card. Luckily they have a few colors in my favorite color scheme. I die-cut this piece down and attached it to an aqua card base. It was so pretty that I hated covering some of it up. I used the left over foil with the Pink Fresh Solid Hot Foil Plate to foil the solid area on another piece of cardstock. This way you can get two foiled images from each piece of foil! And it looks very pretty all in teal with only white lines.
Next, I foiled the Intricate Ginkgo Leaves Hot Foil Plates (2 different sized leaves as shown in the product image above). I used several colors of blue and green foils including Viridian, Teal, Moondust, Skybright, and Cobalt Blue. I foiled two leaves with each color of foil and then die-cut them out with the matching die that comes with the foil plate. I then colored them in with Copic markers. I used two colors on each leaf.
I embossed a sentiment using the Big and Bold Sentiment stamps and dies. I used Ranger Garden Patina embossing powder. I wanted it to be a little darker, so I colored over it with a Copic marker. Great tip is to do this when you are missing a spot of embossing powder on a letter - I use either a matching Copic or colored pencil to fill it in. I attached the sentiment to the center of the card with foam tape behind it. I then arranged all of the Ginkgo Leaves around it snipping off their stems as needed. I added some sparkling clear sequins around the leaves as well.
I have been on a foiling mission lately. Once I got my Glimmer Hot Foil System for Christmas and figured out how to use it, I love getting it out and doing a bunch of foiling all at once. Each time I have new products from a release, I do it so I can put cards together quickly. It's such a pretty look. I love the Bohemian Background and Gingko Leaf Hot Foil Plates from the Dream Big release. Hope you are having a great weekend. I'm still in Hawaii and returning tomorrow, so I'll be back to making lots of cards to share with all the new products! Suzy
