Today is the Let's Chill release by Simon Says Stamp. I never get sick or bored with their releases as they are always exciting and amazing and so fun to work with! This release is true to it's name with lots of chill summery products! I have made quite a few cards with the new release, but I am only sharing one tonight. I'll be sharing more during Day 1 of the 2 day blog hop on this Friday and Saturday (June 17th and June 18th). My card today uses a couple new products including the Beachy Keen Stamp and Die Set, the Beach Party Umbrellas cling stamp, and the Reverse Chill Summer sentiment strips. Here are images:
I really want to do a "one stamp, five ways" post using that Beachy Keen stamp set. Not only does it have GREAT sentiments (love the CZ fonts), but it has some nice summery images as well. Anytime there are sentiment dies, I splurge on dies too as I love the look of sentiments that are die-cut out (which is why I used one on my card). Here is the card I speak of:
I started by stamping the Beach Party Umbrellas cling stamp on white cardstock with Intense Black Ink. I colored it in with Copic Markers. I picked two of each of the shades I used (4 total) and just stuck to that color palette. I used a black Copic on the background areas. I used a white Uniball to add some little lines over the colored areas.
I cut this piece to be the size of an A2 card (5.5" x 4.25"). I then used the Lawn Fawn Just Double Stitching Die around the borders for some added interest. I attached it to a white card base. I first embossed the sentiment with blue embossing powder, but I didn't think it stood out enough. So I stamped it with Intense Black Ink and then embossed it with SSS Clear Embossing Powder so it had a raised shiny look. I attached it with foam tape beneath it to the center of the card.
I then die-cut a sentiment strip from the new Reverse Chill Summer sentiment strip set from the release using the Honey Bee Sentiment Banner dies. They are my favorite to use with the pre-printed sentiment strips as they come with a lot of sizes that fit almost all of these sentiments. I attached that under the raised main sentiment. Last, I added some Chalk Stick Nuvo Drops around the sentiment.
Don't forget to come back for the two day blog hop this Friday and Saturday. I'll have a "one stamp, five ways" post to share with you that I'm working on as fast as I can go! I also made a couple of the slimline cards in the banner at the beginning of this post that I'll be sharing each day. I hope you like this new Let's Chill release and as per the name, I think we can all use a little chillin' right now! Thanks for visiting! Suzy
Gorgeous day at the beach scene!
