As mentioned on my last two blog posts, I've been painting up a storm over here using my Suzy's Doodle watercolor cards at Simon Says Stamp. Today I will be sharing 3 rose cards using the Roses Are Red Watercolor Prints from the Love You release in late 2020. Here is an image of this set:
This set was released once the change was made to have 6 designs, with 2 prints of each design for a total of 12 cards. I had moved to more realistic drawings rather than my whimsical "messy" drawings once I got an iPad, so this set is after that change. I loved painting them all so much the first time, that I wanted to try some of them again with my new Decobrush Markers. I have a blog post HERE and HERE with all of them colored from back when they were released. I didn't look at that post when I painted 3 of them that I'm sharing today and I noticed that I painted one of them exactly the same way as the first time! oooops! Here are the 3 I'm sharing today:
I thought it would be fun to leave sentiments off of them so that you could send them together to someone as note cards tied with a bow on top and then include in a little bad some SSS pre-printed sentiments they could add themselves if they wanted. I die-cut out all of the sentiments in this next photo with the Honey Bee Label Dies and then I put foam tape on the back of them. You could include them in a little card bundle that way so they are ready to be stuck on a card. Here is a look at the cards with the sentiments together:
Now I'll show you a photo of each one that I added one of those sentiments to so you can see how they would look.
I colored all 3 of these images with Karin Decobrush markers. I added details and lines (on the last one) with colored pencils. I used the Lawn Fawn Just Double Stitching die on the first one. I used the Mama Elephant B2B die for the second one so more of the matte showed around it. And I use the SSS A2 Thin Frame Dies for the last one. I didn't add any sequins or Nuvo Drops as I ALWAYS do as I wanted to send them to someone as I described above. Coloring them takes time and I think someone would really enjoy seeing them like this - simple, not overdone and ready to be mailed to someone. I would include 3 envelops in this little bundle as well. I should have put it together and taken a pic for you so I made sure to do it haha.
Thanks for visiting today and if you want to see ALL of my Suzy's Doodle watercolor cards at SSS, they are HERE. You can also go directly to this set called Roses Are Red which has no sentiments on it, so it is really versatile. I am no longer drawing these cards for SSS after I illustrated 50 sets, so I hope people still want to purchase some of these existing designs! Suzy
