Today I have a "one stamp, five ways" post using the SSS Time To Party stamp and matching die set from the Happy and Joyful release. I didn't use this stamp right away as I prefer stamps I can color in and this set is all flat stamps. BUT, when I DO use flat stamps, I always really enjoy them, so I should do it more often! This set is all about birthdays and has a lot of great sentiments in it. Here is an image of the stamp and die bundle:
And just a small point to make - who ever has enough birthday cards? This set is so perfect for getting a bunch made with all of these fun images that you don't have to color! Just pull out the Pawsitively Saturated Ink and go to town! Here are my five cards:
CARD 1:
For the background of this card, I used the new Dimensional Star Stencils from the Happy and Joyful release. I applied 3 colors of Pawsitively Saturated Inks with my SSS Small Brushes: Limelicious, Surf, and Lemonade. I love these type of stencils as they are so easy to use and let you use multiple colors easily. I die-cut this piece with the A2 Thin Frame Dies and attached to a turquoise card base.
I stamped the hats with the same colors of Pawsitively Saturated Inks, but I used the first and second color in each Trio for shading when stamping. I also stamped the little floofs with the same colors. I die-cut them all out with the matching dies and attached them with foam tape behind them to the front of the card. I stamped the Hooray stamp with one of the green and aqua inks. I then covered the inks with Nuvo Glitter Drops. I attached that to the bottom of the card. I used Nuvo Glitter Drops on the spots on the middle hat and the floofs on all 3 and also some Chalk Stick Nuvo drops on two of the hats.
CARD 2:
I die-cut a background for the card using the new A2 Marquee Wafer Dies. I couldn't find a pink cardstock for the card that matched my neon images, so I colored the edges of a pink cardstock card front with the same bright pink Decobrush marker I used on the images. I stamped all of the images from the Time to Party stamp set with light colors of Pawsitively Saturated Inks. I then colored over the inks with Karin Decobrush Markers. They are like acrylic paint in a brush pen and so much fun to use. I am enjoying all the sets I bought myself for mother's day haha (early!).
I die-cut out all of the images and then attached them to the card front with foam tape behind some. I stamped the sentiment on the speech bubble and colored the letters in with colored pencils. I cut off the little tab so I could use it as an ice cream scoop instead. I added some Chalk Stick Nuvo drops around the card background. I was very happy with my solution for making my cardstock match the images - just color with the same markers (can't believe I haven't done this before!).
CARD 3:
This was my favorite card as it turned out so clean. It almost reminded me of a card Laura Bassen would make! I stamped the balloon stamp over and over using Pawsitively Saturated Inks. I used one color in each Trio first and then a darker color second only inking a portion of the stamp with the darker color. I used my finger to soften the edges so they would blend better. I die-cut them all out and attached them to a white card front with some hanging over the edge. I then die-cut this piece out with my new Mama Elephant B2B Rectangle Dies. I just bought this set as I needed some new standard dies for card fronts as all my old ones were worn out and not cutting right!
I stamped a sentiment from the stamp set on a white speech bubble die cut out. I used three colors of ink that matched the balloons by masking portions of the stamp off with masking tape. I attached that to the top of the card with foam tape behind it. I added some sparking clear sequins on and around the speech bubble.
CARD 4:
This card might have taken way too long and is a bit detailed! I started by stamping the Lined Background cling stamp using several colors of Pawsitively Saturated Inks. I tried stamping a color for each line and wiping it off the others, but I ended up with some ink on the wrong areas. I die-cut this piece with the A2 Thin Frame Dies and attached to a yellow card base.
Instead of stamping the images from the stamp set, I just used the dies alone on this one. I die-cut them all from Ranger Watercolor Paper. I used my Karin Brushmarkers to paint the dies. I then attached them all to the card front with foam tape behind them. I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set on a SSS Sentiment Label die and attached it below the large cupcake! I added some candles on each side. I used Chalk Stick Nuvo Drops to decorate the cupcake and they ended up turning the colors of the paint underneath. I used Yellow Bird Glitter drops on the top of the candles.
CARD 5:
I made the background for this card with all the small stamps in the stamp set. I stamped them on Ranger Watercolor Paper with several colors of Pawsitively Saturated Inks. I then used a Ranger Mini Mister and sprayed this piece liberally with water. I flicked some of the inks on this piece as well when it was still wet. I die-cut it with a stitched rectangle and attached to a pink card base.
I die-cut three of the balloons out of Ranger Watercolor Paper and painted them with Karin Brushmarkers. I attached those to the front of the card. I used Glossy Accents over the balloons. I also added some of the floofs around the card and also used Glossy Accents on them. I stamped the sentiment on a SSS Label Banner Die with pink ink and then colored over it with a Karin Decobrush Marker.
Now I have 5 birthday cards to use for all the May birthdays I have! I used one for my DIL last night in fact. I let my grand-daughter choose which one to give her and she picked the balloons, so that one is already gone! It was my favorite, so good choice on her part! I hope you love this Time to Party stamp set as much as I do! Thanks for visiting and have a great week! Suzy
