I usually make cards with products by SSS, but sometimes I have to buy a set that I just love to create with. Mama Elephant often steals my heart with their cute critter stamps. I fell in love with this set called Celebration Hamsters a few months ago, but just finally got the time to play with them. Here is an image of the stamp set:
Hamsters? Cake? Balloons? I'm in! Plus I never have enough birthday cards and this set will be loved by my grandkids! Here is my slimline card:
First, I die-cut a slimline rectangle with white cardstock using the SSS Nested Slimline Rectangle Dies (a must I tell you!). Then I used 3 colors of Pawsitively Saturated Ink and my SSS Brushes to create the background. I used Latte first on the bottom and then I used Peachy on the top adding some Cheeky to the top edges. I then attached this piece to a white card base.
I stamped ALL of the images in the Celebration Hamsters stamp set with Intense Black Ink (some of the hamster images I stamped twice). I colored them all in with Copic Markers. I then die-cut them out with the matching dies and attached them over the background using foam tape underneath some of them for depth. I went back and added a shadow underneath the edges of the images with a Copic marker that was one shade deeper than the background color.
I then stamped a sentiment from the stamp set in the open area at the top of the card with Intense Black Ink. I used Nuvo Glitter Drops over the presents and the sparklers and the hats and the hearts! I used some Chalk Stick Nuvo Drops around the background. I used Glossy Accents over the balloons so they are shiny and raised.
This was a fun card to make as I love critters and I love creating little scenes. I often use 2 of the same image of the stamp set as I like using as many images as possible on my slimline card! I think this Celebration Hamsters stamp by Mama Elephant is the perfect stamp set for birthday cards. I hope you enjoyed this card! Suzy
