I made a card with a darling little stamp set by Gina K. Design. No surprise that it is a flower stamp! She illustrates the most gorgeous flowers that I am so drawn too. I just purchased it, so I think it is fairly new set. It is called Perfect Posy and is a small stamp set, so the price is only $10.99. I was happy about the price! Here is an image:
I made a card with two versions, so you get to vote on which one you like better as I can't decide! One includes a butterfly from the SSS Dancing Butterflies Hot Foil Plate from the SSS Yay You release and the other does not.
I'm not very good at leaving white space on my cards. I always want to fill it up. So I used a hot foiled butterfly in the open space. I'm really not sure which one looks better though, so I took a photo with and without it. I started by stamping the Gina K. Designs Perfect Posy stamp on the left side of a piece of white cardstock with Intense Black Ink. I also stamped the sentiment from the stamp set on the bottom right. I then colored it in with a mix of colored pencils. I noticed that SSS is selling a set of 3 of the Luminance white pencils and they are the best for blending and lightening pencils. Once I finish coloring, I use them on top to blend as you can see in the pink flowers on the front petals. I'm happy to be able to buy 3 whites together since they are the main color I use of the Luminance pencils. I die-cut this piece with the second smallest rectangle in the Mama Elephant B2 B Rectangle Dies. I attached it to a blue card front using Heffy Doodle Cornflower cardstock (new to me and I really like their colors although they aren't as thick as SSS cardstock).
Next, I used my Glimmer Hot Foil Machine and Rainbow Hot Foil to create the butterfly with the SSS Dancing Butterfly Hot Foil Plate and Dies. I love using the Rainbow Foil for the butterflies as you can create them in the different colors of a rainbow and this one matching perfectly! I added some Nuvo Drops that matched perfectly in Berry Blue and Pink Orchid around the flowers. I also added some sparkling clear sequins around the sentiment.
I love this Gina K. Designs Perfect Posy stamp set as it is so small and easy to color. It would be cute on tags as well. I would love to hear which card version you prefer. I know I have problems with not overdoing my cards as I can't seem to ever feel like they are finished. So I bet some prefer it without the butterfly as our eyes need white space! Thanks for visiting today! Suzy
