I can't stop creating with the new SSS release called Happy and Joyful. Today (Thursday) is day 1 of a 2 day blog hop. I hope you are able to participate in that as there is SO much inspiration. You can see ALL of the creations from all of the designers in one place in the SSS Happy and Joyful Gallery.
Today I have a new card to share with you using the Thankful Magnolia Stamp and Die set. Here is an image:
You can buy it as a bundle shown above or you can just buy the Thankful Magnolia stamp set and die separately. I also used the new Soft Plaid Background cling stamp on my card.
I made the background of this card using the new Soft Plaid Background stamp. I wanted the design to be very subtle. Since I watercolored the magnolia design on Arches watercolor paper, I used an ivory cardstock for the card base. I then embossed the Soft PlaiD Background stamp with Nuvo Glacier White embossing powder. It is an ivory color with bits of glitter in it so it provides just a bit of texture and glitz for the background of the card.
I embossed the Thankful Magnolia stamp on Arches watercolor paper with SSS Antique Gold embossing powder. I painted it in with Karin Brushmarkers. I love using these markers with embossing powder as it keeps the intense color in the right place! I used just a bit of color for the flower in a warm gray and yellow.
I die-cut this image out with the matching die. I then attached it to the card base with foam tape behind it. I added some Honeybee Back to Basics gems in clear to the flower petals and to the background in gold. I embossed a sentiment on a banner using the same Antique Gold embossing powder. I attached that to the bottom of the card. I used one gold sequin above it (not sure why!).
You can see my first card using the Lisianthus stamp set on this blog post. You can see my second card using the Mother Earth stamp set and participate in day one of the blog hop on this blog post. I'm so appreciative of you visiting and supporting my blog and the new SSS Happy and Joyful release! Thanks so much! Suzy
The gold embossing is so pretty with the white flower!
