I had to slightly alter the title of this post as you can see above! Yesterday, SSS released a Limited Edition Easter Joy Card Kit. I will be honest with you - as I type this blog post, there are very few of these kits left. Just wanted to warn you! You can see my blog post from yesterday with my first 5 cards made with the kit and the stamp here. And here is an image of the first five cards I posted in case you missed the post:
At the top of this post are my second 5 cards I made with the kit. Like I mentioned, I changed the name from "one stamp, five ways" to "one kit, five more ways" as I didn't use the included 6x8 stamp set on 2 of the cards in my post today. But I did use ONLY products in the kit. Let's get started with these new 5 cards.
CARD 1:
This card is the last card I made of 10. I die-cut eggs from most of the papers in the kit from the Echo Park My Favorite Easter paper pad using the egg die from the Large Easter Basket die in the kit. I die-cut a piece of the paper for the background as well and attached that to a white card base. I glued all of the eggs to the paper in a pattern of 9 eggs. I spaced them with my eye balls, so don't look too closely!
I covered all the eggs with 2 coats of the Ranger Icicle Mini Crackle Paste. I then embossed the 2 small flowers in the Easter Joy stamp set with several colors of embossing powder (all in the supply list at the bottom) on vellum. I fussy cut them all out which believe it or not was pretty easy as vellum cuts easily. But if you have the matching dies, even better! I used small glue dots to attach them to the top of each egg. I embossed a sentiment from the stamp set with white embossing powder on a small banner die I have and attached that to the side of the card with foam tape behind it.
CARD 2:
I used the Layering Eggs stencils in the kit for this slimline card. I die-cut a white rectangle using the SSS Slimline Nested Rectangle Die from white cardstock. I then used SSS Pawsitively Saturated Inks to create the eggs. If you read my post from yesterday, I talked about how my first attempt made a mess because I didn't use Pixie Spray to attach the stencils, so the ink bled outside of the edges a bit. So I cut those eggs out so I could still use them. This time I attached the first stencil with Pixie Spray and used the lightest inks first. I then attached the second stencil and applied the second color in each color family for the designs on the eggs. Instead of using brushes, I applied the ink with the rounded foam applicators by Ranger as they give you a much softer ink application than brushes.
After I applied all of the inks, I re-attached the first stencil and applied a layer of the Ranger Icicle Mini Crackle Paste in the kit giving them a cracked and shiny look. I embossed a sentiment on a small stitched rectangle die with white embossing powder from the Easter Joy stamp set in the kit. I used Chalk Stick white Nuvo Drops between all the eggs.
CARD 3:
This card doesn't use the Easter Joy stamp set - one of my 2 of 10 cards that doesn't use it. But it does use the darling little stamp and die in the kit called Some Bunny Loves You. I embossed it on white cardstock with Pink Peony embossing powder and die-cut it out with the matching die. I then layered two of the papers in the kit using the SSS Nested Oval Dies for the inside piece. I attached the papers to a white card base.
After attaching the two papers, I used foam tape behind my stamped design over the center of the floral oval paper. I used some twine from my stash gluing it around the oval and then tying it in a bow at the bottom of the oval. I added some Chalk Stick Nuvo Drops around the stamped design. I used Rosewater Jewel Nuvo Drops inside the bunny ears. Can I just add that these papers by Echo Park called My Favorite Easter are just darling! They really made this card!
CARD 4:
I made a similar card to this one posted yesterday that uses the floral egg design instead of the floral wreath design. For this card, I embossed the floral wreath from the Easter Joy stamp set with Pink Peony embossing powder on white cardstock using MFT Natural Ink. I colored in the design with colored pencils.
I embossed two of the sentiments from the Easter Joy stamp set using Pink Peony embossing powder. I love how some of the sentiments fit in the middle of the floral wreath. I used some Nuvo Glitter Drops in the center of the flowers and over the small dots. I also used my favorite jewel color called Honeysuckle Nuvo Drops around the wreath. I also added some Chalk Stick ones since I use them on everything haha.
CARD 5:
This card also doesn't use the Easter Joy stamp set. It focuses on the Echo Park My Favorite Easter papers again. I cut out the bunny, the pot with the bunny bum, and the duck from some of the paper designs. I then used colored pencils to add some shading on them. I also cut out the Happy Easter rectangular design from another paper and colored the letters in with pink pencils. Again I added shading to all of the little critters. I outlined all of the images and the letters with a fine tip black pen to make them pop more.
I used the yellow paper for the background attached to a white card base. I then mounted the rectangular design on white cardstock and attached that in the center of the yellow paper with foam tape behind it. I added the critters to each side of this piece with foam tape behind them as well. I added Chalk Stick Nuvo Drops around the rectangle and also on the bunny's tail. I used Honeysuckle Jewel drops over the letters and also around the rectangle.
So there you go - 10 cards with this one Limited Edition Easter Joy Card Kit. I hope when you are reading this it is still available if you are interested in it as there are just a few left at this time. I love this kit. I think it is such a good value for the money. I made 10 cards because I couldn't stop - there were so many elements to use! I still have quite a bit left including the gorgeous velvet ribbons! Thanks for visiting and have a great week! Suzy
