I cannot believe I made a second St. Patrick's Day card when I never make these as I don't really celebrate that holiday. But the products that SSS released in their Good Luck Charm release are so cute, I couldn't resist! The first one I made with the Shamrock Background Stamp and shared on this blog post a couple days ago. This one I made with the Gnome Lucky stamp set and matching die as well as the Layering Clover stencil set. Here is an image of the Gnome Lucky stamp and die bundle:
And here is my card:
First, I made the background using the Layering Clover stencil set from the recent release. I used two colors of ink, both part of the new Gradient 3 set and the Trio 14 group, called Aspen and Pine. I applied Aspen to the first stencil of the leaves with an SSS small brush. I then used the second stencil with just the small scooped area and centers on it and I used the darker color Pine for that part. I didn't attach the stencils with Pixie Spray, so my clovers were a little messy where the stencils moved. I kind of liked them this way, but I decided to outline them all, so I used a fine tip Micron pen and added doodled lines around them. I just noticed I missed lines around the one on the bottom left.
I stamped the Gnome Lucky stamp with intense black ink and colored it in with Copic markers. I used a Luminance red pencil for the outline areas since they were so thin. I also used the pencil to add soft strips on teh letters. I used a white Uniball to add little lines. I stamped the small clover using the same two colors of ink. I placed a piece of vellum over the background as it felt too busy when I placed the Lucky stamp on it. I felt like this softened it a bit. I attached the Lucky stamp with foam tape behind it.
I die-cut a sentiment from the Reverse Lucky Sentiment Strips using the SSS Sentiment Label Dies (smallest one). I attached that below the Lucky stamp. I attached the little clover stamp above it. I added some Nuvo Drops in Blushing Red around the stamped image. I mounted the card on a dark orange card base to match the letters.
I can't believe I love this card. It's rare that I love one of my cards. I didn't realize I would like this Gnome Lucky stamp so much until I colored it. I think it is darling and will definitely use it again! I also love the Layering Clover stencil - especially before I added black lines and placed vellum over it. It was really pretty by itself so next time, I'll show it off more. I hope you are enjoying your February as it is almost over and it will be time for St. Patrick's Day! I have Covid, so I'm just getting by, but getting better each day. Take care! Suzy
