Today I made a very PINK Valentine's Day Card to share with you. I used several Simon Says Stamp products including the Chunky Heart Trio Die from the "To The Moon" release. I also used the Outline Love Die from the "And Back Again" release. Here are images of the two dies:
Ok, are you ready? I've warned you - it is VERY PINK! But who doesn't love pink?!?!?!?!
I made the background using the SSS River Damask Embossing Folder. First I ran it through my die-cut machine using the SSS 120 lb. cardstock. I slightly misted it with a Ranger Mini Misting Tool. I ran it through 3 times so I could get the best impression possible. I then sprayed it with a mixture of two colors of Nuvo Mica Mist: Oriental Fuchsia and Pink Carnation. I find that the pumps on these often get blocked. So I use the same Ranger Mini Misting Tool when applying these sprays. I shake each well and then add half of each to the small spray bottle. I spray that LIBERALLY over the embossed cardstock. I let it dry and then sprayed it again. It has a very iridescent shimmery look to it and is just so pretty. I like mixing these two colors to get the perfect color for me. I wash out the extra from the Ranger Misiting Tool and for some reason, they never get clogged!
Next, I die-cut the Chunky Heart Trio Die from white cardstock two times. I die-cut the Outline Love Die twice from white cardstock as well. I then punched out the center hearts and the outlines and inside of the word Love from one set of each die. I colored the pieces with 4 colors of Copic markers using the darkest color on the top and the lighter colors as I moved down. I also die-cut a small heart from the "I Think I'll Keep You" die and colored it the same. I used RV19 Red Violet for the outline of the letters on the tops and for the top of the heart trio. I used RV34 Dark Pink for the bottom of the letter outlines and the top of the actual letters. I also used it for the middle of the hearts. Next I used RV11 Pink for the middle of the letters and the lower portion of the hearts. Last I used RV00 Water Lily for the bottom of the letters and the bottom of the hearts.
Next, I applied Nuvo Drops in Red Sunstone Glitter very lightly over the colored letters and hearts. I wiped some off with my finger so it was just a light splattering of the glitter. Then I applied a really thick layer of Nuvo Honeysuckle Jewel Drops over the entire letters and colored portion of the hearts and let them dry. I also did this on the heart on the left to use on another card. I attached the embossed background to a white card base. I then attached the heart trio to the top of the card. I attached the LOVE die below it with foam tape behind it. Then I cut a small sentiment from the CZ Sassy Love Sentiment strips over the center heart. I added the little heart to the right of it. I used some sparkling clear sequins and the Sweetheart Mix and Cupcake Frosting Mix of sequins by SSS around the hearts.
That's it! I enjoyed making a card with NO coloring, but I did do lots of coloring techniques on it using all kinds of products that I love using! I hope you like this very pink card as much as I do. I'll be back tomorrow with another one! Thanks so much for visiting! Suzy
