I have yet another Valentine's Day card to share with you today. I've been blogging daily this week - go me. I create so much faster when I'm only making one card at a time. It's the 5 card posts that take a lot of time for me. And with Valentine's Day approaching, I'm just having a lot of fun making pink cards! So many in fact, that I won't have enough people to give them to! I mean, a girl can only have so many boyfriends. haha
Today I used a few different SSS products as shown below (click on product to see it in the SSS store):
I had absolutely NO idea what I was doing when I started this card. I used the SSS Nested Oval Dies to cut the center out of a pink card front. I then used the SSS Imperial Plate Die on a piece of white cardstock and attached that behind the pink card front. Next, I die-cut the "I Think I'll Keep You" die from white cardstock. I colored all of the negative space with Copic markers in pinks. I then attacked it with Nuvo Glitter Drops. I used Sherbert Shimmer over the pink areas and let them dry (I kept it a very think coat). I then used White Blizzard over the letters and let them dry. I glued that to the center of the oval.
I had a plan to attach some images around this oval from a different stamp set, but after spending LOTS of time on coloring them, I decided I didn't like them on this card. So they are being saved. Instead, I decided to put hearts all around the oval because I had a bunch of them in a baggie leftover from other projects. I used hearts from several dies that were in my "baggie of hearts" including the Mini Hearts Party Die, the Chunky Hearts Party Die, the Heart Banner Wafer Die, and a larger heart from the new Chunky Heart Trio Die. ANY hearts that you have dies for will work. These dies just give you a big bang for your buck and time. as they create quite a few at one time! I've listed a few other products in the supply list that would also work, but I bet you all have some already in your stash. Even if it's a die to cut out a stamped image, if it is in the shape of a heart it will work!
Next, I decorated the hearts thinking of the heart sugar cookies I always make for Valentine's Day. Most of the hearts I had already die-cut were in white, so I colored some with Copics to match the sentiment area (or tried as they don't all match!). Using Copics is a quick easy way to create all kinds of patterned paper colors! I used Nuvo Glitter Drops over many of them in 3 colors: Red Sunstone, Sherbet Shimmer, and White Blizzard. I attached them all around the oval overlapping them. I used a package of little heart embellishments I got in a card kit a year or two ago around the hearts as well. I also put some Nuvo drops around the hearts and on the hearts in the glitter colors and some Party Pink, Blushing Red, and Red Berry. I used some glitter ones and some solids. And last, I added some sequins from the SSS Cupcake Frosting Sequin Mix (I love this mix for Valentine's Day cards so much). I went a little crazy decorating my oval frame, but I couldn't stop haha. It might be a bit overdone.
So another day, another pink heart card from me! I have one to share tomorrow already finished also! I hope you are enjoying this little Valentine's Day party on my blog. I always made Valentine's when I was a little girl from doilies and by cutting out things from wrapping paper, so it's been a life long love for me! Thanks so much for visiting! Suzy
