Yesterday was the Simon Says Stamp TO THE MOON release. I have a new set of watercolor cards in this release called Valentine Love Watercolor Cards. There are 12 cards with 6 designs with 2 of each design. At the top of this post, you can see all 6 colored. Here is an image of the cards the way you purchase them:
I blogged 3 of them yesterday using several other new products from the release as well. You can see that post HERE. Here are those 3 images.
And tonight I'm going to share with you the other 3 watercolor cards colored and made into cards. Here is an image of those 3 finished:
And now for directions on each:
I used the new Geometric Lattice Embossing Folder from the To the Moon release for the background of this card with red cardstock. I painted the heart and letters with Daniel Smith red watercolors. I then cut around the outside edges of the heart and attached it to the background with foam tape behind it so it would stand out.
I ruined the Love on the card - can't remember what I did, but I think I used a white Uniball to cover a mistake and it smeared all over it. So I took the second card (2 of each in the set thank goodness!) and colored it with Copics this time . I cut around it and attached that over my messed up one. I used Holly Berries Jewel Nuvo drops over the red dots and hearts surrounded the Love. I added some sparkling clear sequins around the heart.
I wanted to use this card for a wedding card, so I kept it really soft. I used Daniel Smith watercolors on it first. I have some of their Duochrome colors that are sparkly. I used colored pencils for the small flowers on the hearts. I die-cut this piece with the SSS A2 Thin Frame Die and attached it to a white card base.
I used the new CZ Love You Die for the sentiment. I die-cut it out of watercolor paper and painted the words to match the background colors. I used white cardstock for the outline. I attached this with foam tape behind it over the card front. I added some sparkling clear sequins and two colors of Nuvo Dream Drops (they have a pearl finish to them and are so pretty): Cloud 9 and Dragon Scales. I used the white Cloud 9 ones right on top of some of the sequins. This is what happens when I can't decide what to use to finish the card - sequins or Nuvo Drops. I use both and layer!
I die-cut this card a little smaller than the others and mounted it on a red card base. I painted it with Daniel Smith watercolors. I used colored pencils to a dd some shading. Because that is what I do! I used a white Uniball over the small seeds on the strawberries wth a black pencil mark behind each so they looked more realistic.
I used white Chalk Stick Nuvo Drops around the card. I embossed a sentiment from the new CZ Love Garden Greetings stamp set and used the matching dies. I love greeting stamps that have matching dies! I used Ranger Carnation Red embossing powder. I attached that to the bottom of the card.
You can see the entire To The Moon release here. You can see the To the Moon gallery here. I love looking at the gallery to get ideas before I use a new stamp set. It's so great to have all cards made with the release in one place. Make sure to add yours as well. I hope you were able to grab some new goodies for yourself for Christmas! Happy Holidays friends! suzy
