Today I made a card using the new Simon Says Stamp Thankful Wreath stamp and die set. They released the stamp in the Handmade Holiday release in November and then the die came out as part of the Diecember release. It is also sold as a bundle. Here is an image:
I incorporated one of the other Diecember release products called the Detail Pincushion Plate Die. I also used a Large Joy die from the Peace on Earth release. Here is my card:
I die-cut the Detail Pincushion Plate Die from white cardstock. I then attached a solid glue sheet to the front of a white card base. I attached the entire die to it before any of the pieces fell out so I could keep it all intact. It is such a pretty design and I love how it looks as a background in all white. It adds that extra interest I always enjoy seeing on cards.
Next, I stamped the Thankful Wreath stamps (the wreath as well as all of the smaller detail stamps) on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink. I colored them all in with colored pencils. I then used the new set of Thankful Wreath matching dies to die-cut the pieces out. I attached the wreath to the card front and cut off the end of the wreath that hung over the edge. I die-cut the Delicate Leafy Branch Die from the Handmade Holiday release using SSS Gold Matte Mirror cardstock. I snipped the branches off and glued just the base of each around the wreath. I then stamped some of the berries and leaves from the Winter Birds stamp set and attached them around the wreath. I basically took what I thought looked like a Fall wreath and made it into a Christmas wreath with some small additions. I attached all of these elements just on the edges of them so they stick up a bit adding some dimension to the card.
Last, I die-cut the Large Joy die from red holographic paper and from white cardstock. I glued the white letters over the red background. I used foam tape beneath the word and attached it to the center of the wreath. I attached a sentiment strip from the Merriest Christmas Reverse sentiment strip set die-cut with the SSS Sentiment Label dies to complete the greeting. I added some Goldenrod Stickles drops around the wreath and some sparkling clear sequins around the sentiment.
I ended up with a holiday card made from a more fall type wreath/stamp set called Thankful Wreath. That made me happy as I like to get as much use out of my stamp sets as possible. I was also happy to use up some of my extra stamps that were colored and die-cut out, but not used from the Winter Birds set to enhance the wreath design. I hope you enjoyed this card and thank you for visiting! suzy
Oh wow! Your card is stunning. I love the fall colors and the background plate is definitely one of my favorites. Fantastic card.
