Simon Says Stamp Die-cember 2021 BLOG HOP

Today is the first day of a two day blog hop celebrating the Simon Says Stamp Die-cember release! I have a couple cards to share and then I will have all the details of the blog hop at the end of this post.

I made a mini slimline card (3.5" x 6.5") using some of the new dies from the release. I started by die-cutting the new Mini Slimline Lattice Die from white cardstock. I glued the entire piece to a fuchsia card base. I kept the pieces all intact and used adhesive behind the entire thing so they would all stay in place. I then colored the small pieces with Copics to match the card. I used light colors though so they wouldn't distract from the other elements.

I die-cut the Stylized Butterfly Die from SSS Matte Silver cardstock and pushed all of the inside pieces out so I had just a silver border. I used the matching Stylized Butterfly Stencil for the inside. I attached the stencil to a piece of white cardstock and then used 3 colors of the SSS Pawsitively Saturated Dye Ink Pads. I used the Trio 6 Set which contains Taffy Ink, Sweets Ink, and Bubblegum Ink. I used the SSS small brushes to apply the color over the stencil with the lightest color on the inside working outward to the darkest color. I then attached the silver outside over the stenciled piece and cut around the edges of the butterfly. I attached the center piece to the top also die-cut from the silver cardstock. I bent the wings upward and attached it to the left side of the card. I added some antennas to the butterfly using Lawn Fawn Pretty In Pink Sparkle Cord. I used the new "Missing You So Much" Wafer Die for the sentiment. Last I added some sparkling clear sequins around the sentiment. I love the combo of the stencil with the die - I've never used them this way before and it was so easy!
