I made a non-holiday card today and it was fun! I'm knee deep in holiday decor, baking, shopping, and STRESS, so maybe a break was needed to remind me that I will survive this season! Simon Says Stamp released this stamp set called Be Lovely in their last release To The Moon. They also sell a set of matching Be Lovely Dies or you can buy them as a bundle as shown here:
Here is my card:
I stamped the 3 girls in the Be Lovely stamp set as well as multiples of the small items (flowers and mushrooms). I used MFT Natural Ink on white cardstock and I colored them all in with colored pencils. I then die-cut them out with the matching Be Lovely Dies.
I used the SSS Detail Tapestry Plate for the rectangle piece in the background. I ran it through the die cut machine using white cardstock. I die-cut it with a smaller rectangle die to fit on this white card base. I then brushed SSS Pawsitively Saturated Dye Ink over it using the Trio 4, Trio 5, and Trio 9 sets. I used the two lightest colors in each set and started with Trio 9 on the left and used Melon and Cantaloupe, then I moved to Trio 4 in the center and used Peachy and Grapefruit. Last, I used Trio 5, Blush and Cheeky. I absolutely LOVE these new inks and they work wonderfully for ink blending, especially with my SSS brushes. These colors all blended so well together! I then used the SSS Detail Petal Slimline Plate with white cardstock next and then die-cut a piece of it with one of the SSS Nested Oval Dies. I attached that oval over the colored piece for the card background.
I attached there three girls on the front of the card with the middle one popped up with foam tape. I embossed two of the sentiments on a small banner using Lawn Fawn Guava cardstock and white embossing powder. I attached that below the center girl with foam tape. I then glued all of the little flowers and mushrooms on both sides of the greeting. I used Holly Berries Jewel drops on some hearts and Red Sunstone Nuvo glitter drops on others. I used Summer Sunrise glitter drops on the tops of the mushrooms. I added a flower in the center of the girl on the lefts hands by slitting just above her hands so I could slide it under. I also attached one to the hand of the girl on the right. Last I added some Love Potion Dream Drops around the oval.
I think this is the 3rd set of these cute girls SSS has come out with. I've loved all 3 of them and they would all work so well together. The first set was called Big Day and the second set was called Dance and Swirl, both part of the Stamptember release. I hope you like this Be Lovely stamp set from the To The Moon Release. Take care and enjoy your holidays! Suzy
