Today I have a "one stamp, five ways" post to share with you using the brand new Limited Edition Holiday Card Kit called Season of Joy by SSS. Here is an image of the kit: The stamp is also called Season of Joy and there is a matching set of dies. I focused on the stamp, but also used many of the other kit components. Here is an image of the stamp set which can be purchased alone:
CARD 1:
I used two of the patterned papers in the kit for this card. I used the PPP Stitched Notes Die to die-cut both pieces and attached them together on a cream card base including in the kit. I die-cut the "Merry Christmas" die in the kit from SSS Red Holographic paper and attached that to the top and bottom of the smaller plaid paper.
I stamped the flat trees in the Season of Joy stamp with the new "Field" SSS Pawsitively Saturated Ink. It is the perfect color for the pine trees. I fussy cut them out since i didn't have the dies. I stamped the plaid heart in the set with Lawn Fawn Lobster ink and cut it out. I layered them on the front of the card with foam tape behind the tree in the front. I used the new Nuvo Jewel Drops in Holly Berries which is a bright red transparent color for dots on the trees. I tied a piece of Lawn Fawn Sweetheart Cord around the card with a bow on the center of the heart.
CARD 2:
I die-cut a large slim-line rectangle with the SSS Slimline Nested Rectangle dies. I use the large die in this set for every single slim-line card I make! I stamped the large poinsettia stamp on the center of this with MFT Natural Ink. The large floral grouping fits perfectly on a slim-line design and would also fit nicely on a mini-slimline size hanging over the edges a bit. I colored it in with colored pencils as I love the soft look they give me. I kept them a little more on the pink side.
I attached my colored floral piece to a card front made with Lawn Fawn Guava cardstock which is my most used and favorite color between pink and red. I stamped the sentiment right on the card making it a one layer design, but I decided it got lost since the letters are so small. Instead I stamped it on a small stitched banner and used foam tape behind it so it stood out better. I added some Nuvo Dream Drops in Gold Luxe to the center of the flowers. I used Dream Drops in Rudolph's Nose around the flowers which is a new color. And I used my favorite Dream Drops in Cloud 9 which look like white pearls as well around the flowers.
CARD 3:
I wanted to use the Delicate Snowflakes Stencil in the kit for this card. I also wanted to use the Ranger Icicle Paste in the kit, but it dries transparent so I figured out a way to make it show! I first die-cut a piece of Ranger Watercolor Paper using the largest slim-line rectangle in the Nested Slimline Rectangle die set. I then sprayed it with the Nuvo Midnight Horizon Mica Mist and let it dry. I did this two more times drying between each coat so it was nice and covered. I then attached the stencil over this piece by spraying Pixie Spray on the backside. After I applied the paste, I poured Nuvo White Glitter over it which also stuck to the background a little, so it is VERY shimmery! I attached it to a white card base.
I used a rectangle from the inside of the smallest frame die in the MFT A2 Rectangle Frame dies die-cut from white cardstock. I embossed a sentiment from the Season of Joy stamp with Steel Navy embossing powder. I attached that to the front of the card with foam tape behind it. I then embossed several of the snowflakes in the stamp set with the same embossing powder and attached them around the sentiment. I stamped some in black and used a Silver Uniball over the ink and attached them around it as well (silver embossing powder would be easier!).
CARD 4:
This was my favorite card. I used one of the new embossing folders from the Handmade Holiday release called Snowy Path. I embossed it out of SSS 120 lb. white cardstock. I then colored it with Copics - coloring the sky and using gray on the pond and the snowbanks. I colored the fence as well and the small trees although I covered most of them up. I embossed the trees in the Season of Joy stamp set with Rustic Wilderness Embossing Glaze. I embossed the deer with SSS Antique Gold embossing powder. I attached all over the background with foam tape behind some of the trees.
I then used Chalk Stick Nuvo drops over the trees as snow. I also put drops of it over the background. I then used Ranger Frosted Lace Stickles over all of the white Nuvo drops and added some to the edges of the snow banks. I also added some more sparkly drops to the background. I die-cut the "merry christmas" die out of white cardstock twice and glued them together. I attached them to the top of the card. I embossed some snowflakes from the stamp set with white embossing powder around the sentiment.
CARD 5:
I die-cut a piece of Arches watercolor paper into a A2 rectangle. I then embossed the floral design over both corners at an angle with white embossing powder. I watercolored the flowers and leaves with Daniel Smith watercolors. I added a soft wash of the reds and greens over the background. I then flicked gold watercolor over the background using the Finetec Mica Watercolor Pearlescent paint which is actually more opaque then watercolors. I love this set for Christmas cards and use it every year!
I embossed a sentiment from the stamp set on a rectangle again die-cut from the inside of the MFT A2 Rectangle Frame set. I used SSS Antique Gold embossing powder and attached it to the top of the card. I used some sparkling clear sequins around the sentiment. I also used some Nuvo Drops in Pale Gold around the sentiment. I added some more small drops around the card to blend in the the flicked gold splotches. I used the Pale Gold Nuvo drops in the center of the flowers as well (although I forgot the bottom flower oooops).
Isn't this kit so beautiful? I didn't use that much from the kit so I can still make a lot more cards with it. There is all of that gorgeous patterned paper and the matching die-cuts/ephemera packs. The stamp set and stencil will get a lot more use! I hope you like this Limited Edition Season of Joy Holiday Card kit and if you do act quick as they sell out fast and are not re-stocked! Thanks so much for visiting!!! Suzy
