Today is the release of the Simon Says Stamp December Card Kit called Santa's Helpers. It is just darling and so my colors and style. I had a lot of fun with this one, so I did a "one stamp, five ways" post to share with you. I focused on the stamp set, but I also used all of the other products in the kit. Here is an image of the kit:
The stamp set is also called Santa's Helpers. It can be purchased in a bundle with a set of dies or purchased alone. I didn't have the dies, so I did a lot of fussy cutting which I weirdly enjoy! haha And here are my 5 cards:
The Craft Consortium Made By Elves 6x6 paper pad in this kit and the matching Made By Elves 3D Decoupage set in this kit that are oh so darling! I put one of the four decoupage images on this card. They give you the steps and you just use foam tape to build them up so they are dimensional. I added some Tonic Crystal Glaze over all of the ornaments. I attached a piece of the patterned paper to a white card base. I then attached my decoupage image to the top of the card front.
I stamped a little bird from the stamp set and colored him red with colored pencils. He is sitting on the gifts and he doesn't look so little on here - maybe too big for the scene! I used the Santa's Helpers stamp set to stamp the sentiment with Carnation Red embossing powder on a SSS Sentiment Label die. I also added two of the snowflake stamps to each side of the sentiment using a Silver Uniball over them. I tied a piece of red/white twine to the side of the card.
I die-cut a slimline rectangle using the Slimline Nested Rectangle dies from white cardstock. I then die-cut a stitched hill out of the bottom of it using the MFT Slimline Stitched Snowdrift die. I applied Speckled Egg Distress Ink to the top of the card for the sky. I attached both to a gray card base die cut with the Pink Fresh Slimline Diagonal Stitched Rectangle die. I stamped all of the little elves and a bird from the Santa's Helpers stamp set with Intense Black Ink. I colored them in with Copics. I cut them out, but there is a set of matching dies that would make that part much easier!
I attached all of the stamped elves over my background. I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set on the top of the card with black ink. I stamped some of the snowflakes with black ink and added them to the sky. I used White Blizzard Nuvo Drops over the snow and I used Chalk Stick white Nuvo Drops all over the sky and ground.
I die-cut a circle out of a card size piece of SSS Silver 6x6 Glitter Cardstock using the SSS Thin Circle Dies. I also die-cut the same circle out of the Red Holographic cardstock so I could use the red for a frame. Then I die-cut a white cardstock circle for the inside of the shaker window. I used the same red paper for the card base. I filled the opening with lots of PPP Sparking Clear Sequins and Jewels including their snowflake sequins.
I stamped two of the elves from the Santa's helpers stamp set with black ink and colored them in with Copics. I cut them out and attached them to the front of the shaker window. I also attached a snowflake between them. I stamped the sentiment on a banner and attached that to the bottom of the card. I added some Chalk Stick Nuvo Drops around the card front and on the banner. I also used them on the elves' hats.
I made the background of this card by cutting the top portion from one of the patterned papers. I then die-cut two hills using the MFT Stitched Snowdrift dies. I rubbed the Tim Holtz Icicle Crackle Paste over the two hills with my finger and let them dry. They are all shiny and crackled and look really cool in person - I love that stuff! I attached them over the bottom of the card.
I stamped two of the elves with MFT Natural Ink and colored them in with colored pencils. I punched out the sign from one of the Made By Elves Decoupage pages in the kit and used that in the center. I attached the two elves to each side of it. I then attached a couple snowballs and bird punch outs to the bottom of the card. You can use portions of these alone as items on cards instead of building them all up. I stamped Merry Christmas from the stamp set with black ink on a small banner and attached that to the bottom of the card. I attached snowflakes from the stamp set colored over with a silver uniball to the sky. I used Chalk Stick Nuvo drops around the images.
I die-cut a white rectangle using the SSS Nested Slimline Rectangle dies from white cardstock. I then stamped the ornament stamp on the left side with MFT Natural Ink. I used a piece of scrap paper to block part of the stamped image and then restamped the same stamp on the right side overlapping my paper where the two designs would meet (I could have used masking paper, but I'm too lazy). I colored them all in with colored pencils which give them such a soft look. I attached the rectangle to a Lawn Fawn Guava cardstock card base.
I used Tonic Crystal Glaze over all of the ornaments so they are dimensional and shiny. I embossed the sentiment from the stamp set on the bottom of the card with Carnation Red embossing powder. I used the new Holly Berry Jewel Nuvo Drops over all of the berries. I love that bright red translucent color they added this year for the holidays!
That's it - I feel like this post went fast, so maybe I didn't write as much as usual. Which is ok with me and probably ok with you as well! I realized that my email notification button for when I post isn't working any more, so I'm going to get that fixed. I hope you enjoyed this post using the new SSS kit called Santa's Helpers and focusing on the 6" x 8" stamp set also called Santa's Helpers and sold alone. Thanks so much for visiting! Suzy
