When STAMPtember started, SSS released SO MANY products and I have them all waiting for me to get time to use them! But then the daily collaboration sets started, so I didn't have much time to attack all those new goodies. And now there is another release coming in early October, so again, I won't have time to dive in like I want to. But I will. No doubt. Can't keep me away from all those delicious goodies! This post today uses my set of Watercolor Cards that were part of the STAMPtember release called Welcome Autumn. Here is an image of the set:
There are six different designs with two prints of each for a total of 12 watercolor cards. They are printed on Ranger Watercolor Paper on the smooth side, which allows you to use any coloring medium to color them. I love that the paper is pure white and nice and thick. I made 3 of them into cards for the STAMPtember release you can see at this blog post here. And here are images of those 3 (but go to blog post for the details and more images if interested).
Today I have the other three made into cards to share with you. Here you go!
I decided to go with a different color scheme for this one. I used teal, purple, orange, and lime green. No idea why, but I think it works?!?!?! I painted all of the images with Karin Brushmarkers. I used a white Uniball gel pen for some of the details. I used colored pencils to add some shading here and there. I did a light wash of the colors in the leaves on the background. You can just use a wet brush and some of the color from the leaves moves out into the wet area and presto, a wash background.
I used a sentiment that I thought fit the look of this card - kind of playful and doodled looking. I love this congrats from the XL Greetings 3 stamp set that was also part of the STAMPtember release. I die-cut a small rectangle using the SSS A2 Rectangle Thin Frames. I made the frame white and the inside teal to match the card base. I embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder. I used Chalk Stick and Sweet Lilac Nuvo Drops around the sentiment.
I painted this card with Daniel Smith Watercolors. I used a wash of a light peach on the background around the acorns. I then flicked a few colors of paint over the image - a light coral and a dark brown. I ended up adding a bunch of other colors of Nuvo Drops around the card base too so it has way toooooo many freckles I think. I die-cut it to be smaller and then attached it to a brown card base.
I used the new Thankful For You dies from the STAMPtember release with three colors of cardstock - cream, butter yellow, and dark brown to match the card base. I added a bunch of Nuvo drops around the card base which I mentioned above. I added some fall colored sequins around the sentiment.
I painted this one with Daniel Smith watercolors. I used colored pencils all over it as well because I really wanted it to be shaded!
I used Nuvo Glitter Drops all over the leaves in the tree and on the ground. I just noticed that a piece of something is over the leaves on the ground by the tree - no idea what that is! A piece of coral paper from the Thankful I die-cut above I think. Not too pretty, so please don't focus on it haha. I wanted a really little sentiment since this one doesn't have a lot of open space. I stamped this sentiment using the CZ Silhouette Sentiments stamp set with matching dies using Intense Black Ink. I attached that to the center of the card. I used some Iceberg Blue Nuvo Drops around the sky area to finish it. You know I love my Nuvo Drops!
Now that was a lot of FALL! I can't believe it is time to work on Christmas cards now! I've got a lot of work to do over here before the new release which is going to be really cool so get ready! Thanks so much for stopping by! Suzy
