Today's STAMPtember collaboration stamp set is with Clearly Besotted. I adore their sweet critter sets, so this one was right up my alley! The stamp set is called Magical Christmas and is sold alone or is sold as a bundle with a set of matching dies. Here is an image of the set:
Could this set be any cuter? I made a mini-slimline card with it. I'll admit right here that I had planned for a bit more on the background, but I got the call that my daughter's water had broken and had to jump on a plane early the next morning. So I drew some quick clouds and finished this card as quickly as I could. I will definitely be using it again when I'm not in a hurry!
The first thing I did is stamp all of the cute images in the Magical Christmas stamp set on white cardstock with black ink. I stamped the present 3 times knowing I would use it more when creating a scene. I also stamped the circle stamp with black ink. I then colored in all of the images with colored pencils. I went with a blue, pink, and purple color scheme even though it's a Christmas card as for some reason I felt like those are the colors of unicorns.
I die-cut the circle out using one of the SSS Stitched Circle dies which was the perfect size for it. This is when my plans went awry! I planned on making this a shaker card with the circle in the center and lots of little sparkling sequins in it so it looked like it was snowing. So to save time, I instead used a mini-slimline design. I cut the white cardstock to fit on the Lawn Fawn Portrait Slimline Scalloped Die which is made for a full slimline card. I cut it down to fit for a mini slimline size and just overlapped two pieces of the scalloped design, so you can't even tell it was pieced together. I attached the white piece to the frame and then drew clouds with a fine tip black marker. I used a gray pencil to add shading beneath each cloud.
I attached the circle to the center of the card and then all of the unicorns and presents around the circle. Then I did my decorating with Nuvo Glitter Drops. I used several colors over the rainbow and the tree ornaments and used White Blizzard as snow around the background. One hint that I used on this card: I had originally colored the ornaments on the tree red. I decided not to use red in my color scheme, so I colored over them with a white Uniball gel pen and then used Enchanting Pink Glitter Drops over them. This made them pink! I should have done the same for the candy cane as now it is the only thing red on the card!
I hope you enjoyed this card using the Clearly Besotted Magical Christmas stamp set. You can also purchase it with a set of matching dies. This one is always in high demand and will sell out quickly so be warned! I hope you are enjoying all of the Stamptember products and the Stamptember collaboration sets! The month is not quite over, but my contributions will be drawing to a close with this post. I'm in Utah enjoying my new grand baby. I'll be back for a surprise release at the end of the month though. Enjoy Stamptember friends! Suzy
