Today's STAMPtember collaboration with Simon Says Stamp is with Art Impressions. I think I told this story last year, but here goes again. On one of my many annual visits to CHA, (what the annual craft show used to be called), I found myself in the Art Impressions booth. I fell head over heels in love with what I called their girl friend stamps. They had a whole line of hysterically funny chubby lady stamps that were friends doing fun stuff. I wanted every single one. I found out they were going to sell their booth's inventory at the end of the show, so I stayed and bought almost every single set haha. I still have them all and never did much with them, but they will always be treasured! So every time SSS has an exclusive Art Impressions set, I jump all over it. I had a lot of fun with this set called Hug In A Mug. Here is an image:
And now for my card:
I started by stamping the image of the lady friends with Intense Black Ink on white cardstock. I colored them in with colored pencils. I was going to use Copics for this one, but I figured everyone else designing with this set would probably use Copics, so I would use my beloved pencils! I love coloring clothing and figuring out colors and designs to add to it. This was fun to color with the big baggy sweatshirts.
After it was colored, I used some gray Copics to add a ground as I hate it when my images float. These ladies needed to be grounded! I die-cut this piece with a smaller rectangle die and mounted it on two colors of cardstock to frame it. I actually couldn't decide whether to use red or blue, so I used both haha!
I stamped a sentiment from the stamp set with black ink on the top of the card. I used White Blizzard Nuvo Glitter Drops around the background to mimic snow. I used clear Nuvo Drops in Morning Dew over the mugs. I used Chalk Stick Nuvo Drops all over the clothes. And that is another one layer simple card that was super fun to make.
If you like these silly lady friends as much as I do, grab this Hug In A Mug stamp set asap as supplies go fast and they are not restocked. I hope you are enjoying the fun of STAMPtember, my favorite crafting month of the year! You can see the entire SSS STAMPtember release here and all of the STAMPtember collaboration sets here. Thanks for visiting! Suzy
