Today is the release of the STAMPtember Limited Edition Birthday Bash Card Kit. I have a "one stamp, five ways" post to share with you using the kit. Here is an image of it:
This Birthday Bash card kit is limited edition which means limited inventory and when it is out of stock, it is done - it won't be restocked. They are also selling the Birthday Bash stamp set and some of the other items in the kit alone. The links to these are all in my supply list at the end of this post. Here are my five cards:
CARD 1;
For this card, I used the Party Candle Stencil in the kit. I die-cut a rectangle using the SSS Slimline Nested Rectangle Die out of white cardstock. I attached the candle stencil that has the flat candles, not the decorations first using tape to hold it in place. I used the new Pawsitively Saturated Ink Pads and the small SSS Blending Brushes (2 come in the kit!). I used the lightest color in the 3 color families for this flat part so it was the lightest. Next I attached the second stencil with the candle designs over the first solid ones and used the darkest color in each color family. After I was done applying ink to the first 5 candles, I attached the stencils next to it so the candles were evenly spaced. I ended up using the stencil twice and then adding 2 more candles at the end to keep them all spaced evenly. Was very happy it worked out this way fitting so perfectly!
Next, I decided I wanted the candles to have outlines, so I used a fine point Micron black marker to doodle around them. I say doodle as that word means messy drawing, not perfect drawing and sometimes I add two lines instead of one. I decorated the candles with Nuvo Glitter Drops over all of the darker areas in the candles. I also used two colors on the top of the candles. I stamped the "celebrate" stamp with Intense Black Ink twice so it was really dark. I then cut it out around the letters and attached it over the candles with foam tape behind it. I then stamped the other sentiment from the stamp set on a SSS Sentiment Label Die and attached that below Celebrate. I used Chalk Stick Nuvo Drops around the candles.
CARD 2:
For this card, I used the Balloon Bouquet Die that came in the kit. I die-cut it out of 5 different cardstock colors. I die-cut a white rectangle using the SSS Nested Slimline Rectangle Dies. I then glued the balloon outlines to the white cardstock overlapping a couple of them so they all 5 fit. I glued a different color inside each one using all of the insides.
Once all of the balloons were on the card front, I attached it to a dark red cardstock card base. I then used the SSS Sentiment Label dies for the sentiment. I stamped the "happy" and "birthday" stamps in black ink on the smaller banner and colored the letters in with a dark red colored pencil. I then glued the yellow smaller one over a light blue larger one so it was framed. I attached this banner over the bottom of the balloons. I added some sequins around the balloon strings and on the sentiment label.
CARD 3:
First, I stamped the "birthday" stamp and the balloons multiple times in black ink on white cardstock. I colored all of them in with Copic markers. I then cut them out since I didn't have dies and I am the queen of loving fussy cutting haha. I covered all of the balloons with Tonic Crystal Glaze and let them dry over night. I love this glaze as it goes on really thick and dries in a beautiful shiny texture. I used Yellow Bird Glitter Drops on the tops of the candles. I used a white Uniball gel pen to add white lines over the Glaze on the balloons.
I die-cut a piece of white cardstock with the SSS Mini-Slimline Nested Rectangle Dies. I glued the Birthday stamp to the bottom of the rectangle and then attached all of the balloons above it with foam tape beneath each. I cut the word "happy" off one of the SSS Sentiment Labels in the kit. I attached that above the word Birthday. I used Chalk Stick and Black Board Nuvo Drops around the balloons.
CARD 4:
I love the MFT Party Time 6x6" patterned papers in this kit, but unfortunately I was only able to use one of them on my cards because I got carried away with all of the other cool products in the kit! I cut this paper into a card size piece and attached it to a card base. I then ran a piece of white cardstock through my die-cut machine with the embossing folder that comes in the kit. I planned on using it in it's full size, so I did this next part kind of backwards. I decided I wanted it in the shape of an oval for the center of my card. I ran it through the die-cut machine again with a SSS Nested Oval die which flattened the design significantly, but I still liked how it looked. I guess cutting an oval first and then running that through the die-cut machine inside the embossing folder second would have made more sense. I attached that to the center of the patterned paper.
I stamped the word "birthday" on an MFT banner die-cut from pink cardstock. I colored that in with a white gel pen and attached it over the bottom of the oval. I cut out the word "happy" and the phrase "let's eat cake" from the SSS Sentiment Labels in the kit and attached them above and below the banner. I stamped the birthday cake stamp on white cardstock with black ink and colored it in with Copic markers. I used Nuvo Drops to decorate the candies on it and on the candle. I attached it to the oval with foam tape behind it.
CARD 5:
This is my "random stamped" background card. I stamped all of the images (except for the cake) on a white card front with MFT Natural Ink. I colored all of them in with colored pencils. I decided to go with a totally different color scheme since all of my other cards were made with the colors in the kit. I die-cut it with a rectangle die and attached it to a teal cardstock base.
I used an older MFT banner die I had and stamped a sentiment from the stamp set with black ink on the center. I attached that to the bottom of the card. I added some sparkling clear sequins around the sentiment. I also added some Blue Crush Nuvo Drops around the card between all the items (great way to fill in little empty spaces!).
That's it for my "one stamp, five ways" post using this ultra cool Limited Edition Birthday Bash card kit. I really love the Birthday Bash stamp set in the kit which is sold alone or with a set of matching dies as a bundle. I wish I had those dies when I was doing all my fussy cutting! I love that they are selling all of the stencils and balloon die alone also in case you miss out on the kit and want to just buy some of the components! Have fun making birthday cards friends as we can never have enough of those lying around! Thanks for visiting and happy end of STAMPtember to all! Suzy
