I made a card today - it was a quick one, but it turned out which made me happy! I wanted to try out this cute new stamp set and die that was part of the Rainbows release at Simon Says Stamp. It is called So Happy For You which is a 4" x 6" stamp set with matching die that is targeted for wedding cards. Here is an image of the set sold together as a bundle:
This stamp set has dies for all the sentiments which I love. It also has lots of items to color which I love! It also has a convertible car in it which I love! So I had to use it. Here is my card:
I started by stamping all of the images in the So Happy For You stamp set with MFT Natural Ink on white cardstock. I planned on some no-line coloring, but deviated from that a bit as things rolled along. I colored the card with Copic markers. I have owned a few convertibles in my life and two of them were red, so red it had to be. There is nothing like the joy I get from riding around in a convertible with my hair blowing and the sun in my face. Awe good times before I grew up! I colored all of the other items in with colored pencils since they were smaller.
After I was done coloring in the items, I felt like they needed to be outlined with black, so I used a fine tip marker. I was at the park and my dog was on my lap and things didn't go quite as planned. So it got a bit messy and I embraced the doodled look! Don't look too closely at the license plate! I came home and die-cut all of the pieces out. I then went through quite a few background options which is always the longest part of me making cards!
I ended up using the CZ Simple Due Stencil that has one with hearts on it. I used Texture Paste with Watermelon SSS Ink mixed in and then rubbed that over the stencil on the center of a Mini Slimline Card base. I let it dry and cut that piece down and framed it with Lawn Fawn Guava cardstock - my favorite red color ever. I attached that to a white card base so it was double framed. I attached all of the die-cut pieces with foam tape behind them. I used Copic Markers in gray under the card so it didn't look like it was floating. I used some Nuvo drops over some of the areas of the card I wanted texture on as well. I used gray Jewel drops on parts of the card and glitter drops on the hearts.
That's it - a nice easy and fun card to make on a Sunday with my family at the park. Now it my dog had just stopped trying to chase the squirrels, I might not have messed up the outlining so much! I hope you enjoyed this card and thank you for visiting. This small stamp set is called So Happy For You and is still available at SSS - thank goodness as every one I use lately is out of stock or on reserve! Suzy
