Today is the My Favorite Things August 2021 New Product Release. I have two cards to share with you using some of these new products that really spoke to me. When I saw the Stacey Yacula jungle sets, I got so excited as I love jungle animals and her take on them was just perfection! I made a slimline card with these two sets that are called Sweetest Safari Set 1 and Sweetest Safari Set 2. Here are images of the two stamp sets both 4" x 6":
Aren't these animals so cute?!?!?! Here is my card:
I always fit so many images on my slimline cards that they probably look too busy, but scene creating is my favorite thing to do! I stamped all of the images in the Sweetest Safari Set 1 and 2 with black ink and then I stamped the tree and plants multiple times. I colored them all in with colored pencils. I die-cut them out with the Sweetest Safari Set 1 and Sweetest Safari Set 2 matching dies.
Once I had them all die-cut, I arranged them on a card to get a feel for how I wanted to do the background. I used the MFT Slimline Grassy Hills die for the back piece and the Stitched Slimline Snowdrifts die for the front hill. I used Distress Inks on the sky and both ground pieces including the following colors: Stormy Sky, Tumbled Glass, Fossilized Amber, Mowed Lawn, Rustic Wilderness, Bundled Sage and Peeled Paint.
Once the background was all layered and ready to go, I attached all of my plants and animals with foam tape behind some to layer them. I stamped the sentiment in black ink on the Distress Oxide background before the ink was dry I guess as the black ink wouldn't attach to it and I tried so many times. So I ended up using a fine tip micron marker to fill in the letters which is why they look a little messy. I added some Nuvo Drops in Olive Branch and Iceberg Blue.
My second card uses the Rachelle Anne Miller stamp set called Celebrating You. It is a mini 3" x 4" stamp set, so I made a mini 4" x 4" card with it! Here is an image of the stamp set:
And here is my little card:
I stamped all of the images from the Celebrate You stamp set with 3 of the balloons on white cardstock with black ink. I colored them in with colored pencils. I die-cut them out with the matching Celebrate You dies. I stamped the "Let's Celebrate" sentiment in the center of the banner. I used Distress Oxide Ink on the card base which is about 4" x 4". I applied it very lightly with Spun Sugar on the bottom and Squeezed Lemonade on the top.
I attached all of the images with foam tape under them on the card front so they are dimensional. I used Nuvo Glitter Drops in Yellow Bird, Sherbet Shimmer, and Blue Lagoon over the balloons and present bows. I used some Chalk White ones on the bottom of the card and Yellow Bird Glitter ones on the top of the card to match the background.
I hope you are enjoying visiting all of the blogs showing inspiration using the new release by MFT for August 2021. I'm looking forward to trying out some of the other new products that I love from the release, but Rachelle and Stacey seem to always make my favorite stamps. The Sweetest Safari Set 1 and Sweetest Safari Set 2 were definitely my favorite sets from the release as well as the Celebrate You little tiny set! Thanks for visiting and remember that MFT is giving away some $25 gift certificates to their store from the blog comments left on each of the blogs in the hop today. Thanks for visiting friends! Suzy
