Today I have a card using an embossing folder from the SSS Rainbows release. They released 4 different gorgeous embossing folders in this release and I have posted cards with three of the four so far. If you didn't see those posts, there is one with the Wildflower Fields embossing folder here, one with the Vine Canopy embossing folder, and one with the Roseville Bouquet embossing folder. This card is made with the last of the four called Leaf Bundle and here is an image:
My card uses the same exact coloring methods I've used on the other 3. Here are the photos and directions:
I embossed the Leaf Bundle embossing folder using SSS 120 lb. cardstock. I also embossed it with my usual cardstock - 110 lb. Neenah white cardstock. I was amazed at the difference 10 pounds can make (definitely makes a difference on my body!) in cardstock and the resulting image. It was much more dimensional. I spritz my paper first using a Ranger Mini Mister and then I run it through my die-cut machine three times to assure the design is really set. I try to hold it in place though so the paper doesn't slightly slip or you end up with a fuzzy image. Once it was embossed, I cut it down slightly so it would fit on the front of an A2 card with the edges of the cardstock showing to frame it.
I colored the raised portions of the design with Copic markers. I used really bright colors to create a tropical feel. Even though they are all leaves, not flowers, I decided to use floral colors too. I don't think I've ever seen fuchsia leaves, but why not?!?!?! I added some additional outlining and shading with colored pencils.
I stamped the "love is love" sentiment using the new You Are Loved stamp set and matching You Are Loved dies. I stamped it with Intense Black ink three times with my Misti to get a really dark image. I used a sentiment from the "All Things Happy Reverse Sentiment Strips" set. I love how you can add a little secondary strip to complete a sentiment. I added some sparkling clear sequins around the sentiments.
I'm finding the embossing folders make very fast and easy cards. I am trying to make one with each embossing folder Simon has released, so watch out for more to come! I'm working on a gorgeous one right now! Thanks for visiting today friends and have a great weekend! Suzy
