Today is the release of the Simon Says Stamp July 2021 Card Kit called Garden Greetings. Here is an image of the kit:
I used the kit for my "one stamp, five ways" post today, but I primarily focused on the stamp set also called Garden Greetings. It is a 6" x 8" stamp set that is full of gorgeous flowers and perfect sentiments. I also used the new Blossom Field Embossing Folder on a few of my cards because it is so very gorgeous and I just couldn't resist using it on almost all of them! Here are my five cards!
CARD 1:
This card uses the Blossom Field embossing folder for the background. First, I sprayed a piece of card size cardstock with a mixture of Oriental Fuchsia and Pink Carnation Mica Sprays by Tonic. I mixed the two colors in a small Ranger Mini Mister bottle because they often get clogged. I realized by putting a little in these small bottles, I can spray them and then rinse the small container out for another use. That way the colors never clog the bottle. I sprayed this one with a really opaque (thick) layer. I used some more of the mixed spray for a lighter coat on another one of my card backgrounds. After it dried, I put it into the embossing folder and ran it through my die-cut machine 3 times. I meant to have the designs stick up, but I accidentally did it upside down so the designs push down instead. I cut this piece down a little and attached it to a white card base with foam tape behind it.
I stamped the wreath stamp from the Garden Greetings stamp set on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink. I colored over all of the lines and inside the flowers with colored pencils. I love using colored pencils over stamps that have lots of lines like this one as it's the best way to add multiple colors to a flat stamp. I cut around the edges of the wreath design. I embossed the sentiment from the stamp set with Ranger Kirsch Flamingo embossing glaze in the middle of the wreath. I attached that to the top of the card front. I used some Nuvo Drops over some of the flowers and dots to add texture and shine.
CARD 2:
This is my least favorite card because it is so not my colors! There are beautiful papers in the kit and this one actually looks more reddish in real life. But I fell like in this picture it looks more brown. I liked the wood texture in it. I cut it down to fit on the front of a cream card base. I then embossed the floral design on the top and the bottom of the paper with white embossing powder.
I used a Luminance colored pencil to color in all of the open areas of the design - Luminance are the most opaque of all my colored pencils, so it worked really well over the colored paper. I then die-cut the new Big Scripty Hugs die that is in the kit for the greeting. I die-cut it from white and red cardstock and layered it together for the sentiment. I added some Dream Drops in Cloud 9 around the designs.
CARD 3:
For this card, I again embossed the beautiful Blossom Fields embossing folder. This time I used it with white cardstock. I cut a piece of the black patterned paper in the kit and created a black cardstock card base which was also in the kit. I cut down the embossed piece and attached it over the black card base. I then attached the paper to the left side over the embossed image. I stamped the long floral stamp from the Garden Greetings stamp set with MFT Natural Ink and I colored it or rather outlined all of it with different colors of colored pencils.
I cut around the floral design and attached it over the seam between the black patterned paper and the white embossed area. I then embossed a sentiment from the stamp set with WOW Ebony embossing powder on a white cardstock octagon shape. I attached that slightly tucked under the flowers on the center of the card. I then added some Nuvo drops around the flowers and over the small dots. I also added some small dots to frame the sentiment on the octagon. I used some coral twine around the edge of the card.
CARD 4:
I stamped the floral wreath again on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink. I outlined it with colored pencils in pinks and purples. I then colored around the flowers and leaves really lightly with pencils as a background. I die-cut this piece with a stitched rectangle to be slightly smaller than a card front. I made the card base with the pink cardstock in the kit. I attached the stitched colored piece over it.
I die-cut the Big Scripty Hugs die from the same pink cardstock and white cardstock. I layered them on the bottom of the card to complete the design. I used the sparkling clear sequins that were in the pack of sequins included with the kit around the wreath. I also used Nuvo drops over areas of the wreath to "decorate" it a bit! I stamped the "at this difficult time" stamp in the center of the wreath with black ink.
CARD 5:
I used the gorgeous embossing folder in the kit for this card again. When I sprayed the cardstock for the first card, I also sprayed this one with the Nuvo Mica sprays, but this time I used a much lighter coat. I let it dry and then ran it through my die-cut machine with the embossing folder. Next, I colored all of the images on the embossing folder with Copic markers. I cut this piece down and attached it to a white card base.
I used a Hello Bluebird banner die-cut for the sentiment. I embossed it with a mix of Pink Peony and Kirsch Flamingo embossing powders. I stamped the second sentiment with black ink below it. I stamped some of the small flowers and leaves around the sentiment with MFT Natural Ink and colored them in with the same colors of Copic markers. I added some sparkling clear sequins around the banner.
Do you love this Garden Greetings Kit as much as I do? I think it's a combo of the Garden Greetings stamp set and the Blossom Field embossing folder that are my favorite elements in the kit. I hope you enjoyed this "one stamp, five ways" post to get you motivated to use the kit if you ordered it. There are SO many cute cards made with it on the product page. Thanks so much for visiting tonight and have a great week friends! Suzy
Your cards are all gorgeous. The last card is my fave- it looks embroidered. Can't wait til my kit arrives.
