Tonight I have a new slim-line card to share with you using a stamp set by My Favorite Things designed by Stacey Yacula (one of my favorite illustrators!) called Travel Plans. This one was in their last release in May. It's the perfect set to use if you are going to start traveling now that covid restrictions are lightening up. Here is an image of the stamp set:
There are matching dies, but I didn't have them so I fussy cut all of the images out. Lucky I like to fussy cut and have good scissors! Here is my card:
I wanted to use all of he images, so I went with the slim-line format. I also love to create scenes on this size card. I drew a line on the bottom third of the card with pencil. I then colored the sky and the ground with Copics with the darker colors towards the line so it would create depth in the scene.
Next I stamped all of the images from the stamp set with Intense Black Ink on white cardstock. I don't usually use black ink as I don't like black outlines on my images. But Stacey's sets use such fine lines that I like them black. And whenever I use MFT Natural Ink for no-line coloring, I end up drawing lines with a fine-tip black marker. So starting that way saved me a step! I colored all of them in with colored pencils.
I arranged the images on the background with foam tape under those that I wanted to appear closer. I attached the buildings to the sky line so they would look farther back in the scene. I stamped two of the sentiments on the top center of the card with black ink. I stamped the top one twice so it was darker so it would appear like a title and a subtitle.
I don't think I have ever made a card with so few supplies. My supply list below is only about 6 products. The scene was so busy, that I didn't even add any Nuvo drops or sequins (unheard of for me!). I have linked the products to the SSS store in both he body of this message and at the end. Thanks so much for visiting! Suzy
