Today is the MFT May 2021 product release. What do two stamp sets by Rachelle Anne Miller equal? Cute overload! Which is ironic considering one of the two sets is called Cuteness Overload! And it won't disappoint. The other set is called Million Dollar Friends and it is my favorite stamp from the new release. Her darling girl illustrations have my heart as they remind me of my girls when they were young and cute and sweet! Those days are over, so I live vicariously through my stamps haha! Here are images of the two stamp sets I'll be using in my card today:
Cuteness overload, am I right? Funny that I just noticed that I used the "Together, we are cuteness overload" sentiment on my card haha. Here is my slimline card using both sets together (((because they were made for each other!).
I started my card by making a background worthy of these cute little stamps. I pulled out my brand new Distress Oxide Ink in Salvaged Patina as I couldn't wait to see what shade of teal it was! I used the MFT Slimline Cloud Edges stencil for the clouds. I was surprised the color was more blue than I expected. A perfect turquoise blue just the right shade! I used the Slimline Grassy Hills dies for the grass with Mowed Lawn and Bundled Sage. Sometimes straight mowed lawn is too bright for me, so the sage mellowed it out a little while still maintaining that pretty green grassy color. I attached the grass over the clouds.
Next, I stamped all of the images from both stamp sets in black ink (oh my that's a first!). I noticed the lines on her images are so thin that I thought I would try them in black. I don't like black outlines because most stamps have thicker lines and it just pops out at me. But these stamps are perfect in black and a lot easier to color than no-line stamping with a light ink. I used colored pencils to color them in. I admire those who use Copics for all of their small stamped images. I don't know how I would ever stay in the lines. Pencils are SO much easier!
I attached all of the images onto the background. I stamped the sentiment with black ink on the bottom of the card. This card was actually really simple to make which was good because I finished it at 10:00 the night before you are reading this! Lucky I have one of those pre-lit photo boxes which saved the day. I had my two grandkids all weekend until 8:00 Monday, so there wasn't much time for crafting.
Just say I am right about the cuteness overload of these two stamp sets and I'll stop saying, am I right?!?!?! I love both the Cuteness Overload stamp set and the Million Dollar Friends stamp set, but like I said 100 times before, together they make the perfect match of (((say it with me))) cuteness overload! Thanks for visiting today and I hope you are enjoying the brand new MFT May Release! Suzy
