Today I have a "one stamp, five ways" post to share with you. And guess what - I used a SSS stamp set that has flowers in it AGAIN! Flowers and critters are my favorites every time. Today I pulled out an oldie, but a goodie called Beautiful Flowers 2. I'm not sure how long ago it came out, but it does have matching dies and is sold as a bundle. Here is an image of the bundle:
When this set came out, I stamped a bunch of images with black ink and colored some in with watercolors and colored some with colored pencils. And then I put them into a baggie to use on a "one stamp, five ways" post when I had time to finish the cards. I never used them! I came upon them the other day and realized I could still use them as the set is still active and I still love it! The only negative thing is I feel like my coloring has improved a bit over the past couple years with pencils, so don't judge these too harshly. I think I had just fallen in love with pencils when I colored these!
CARD 1:
I stamped one of the long floral groups with black ink and colored it in with pencils. This image size is perfect for slim-line cards and they didn't even exist that I am aware of when it was created! It fits so perfectly! I did add one little leaf piece to make it fill the area out better. I attached it to a white card base. I used a frame from a Hello Bluebird slim-line die cut from white cardstock. I applied Kitsch Flamingo ink to it. I love using Inks to make colored frames so they can be just the right color when I don't have the right color cardstock.
I went the easy way and attached two pre-printed SSS sentiment strips. I mix all mine up, so I never know what set I used. Then I try to figure it out so I can link them and I spend 30 mins trying to read all the small print on the SSS site. Then I give up. That just happened - so sorry! haha I added some sparkling clear sequins and it was done!
CARD 2:
This one I just colored. I started with a piece of Ranger Watercolor Paper. I stamped the two sets of leaves with black ink over and over. I watercolored them in with my Daniel Smith watercolors. I used some of the colors that have sheen in them and are pearlescent. If you look at it sideways, it is very shiny! I flicked lots of color on it as well. I die-cut this piece down and attached it to a white cardstock card base.
I also colored a butterfly from the Beautiful Butterflies stamp set and matching dies. I used the CZ "just because" die for the sentiment and attached the butterfly above it. I glued just his body down so the wings are bent up. I added some sparkling clear sequins.
CARD 3:
I used my new favorite SSS scalloped slim-line dies for the base of this card. When I use this die, I like to make the card itself smaller than the base so the scallops are the edge of the card. I usually cut them down to about 7,5" x 2.5". I cut a piece of white cardstock to fit over the frame so it bordered it nicely. I stamped a mason jar from the CZ Light Me Up stamp set and matching die. I use this jar all the time lately! I colored it with light gray copics. I attached that over the white cardstock on the bottom of the card.
I had a bunch of flowers stamped with black ink and colored with pencils and some were watercolored also. I arranged them all above the jar. I cut up a large floral stamped one so I had extra leaves and flowers from that as well. I fit a lot on there as I didn't want to waste any of my colored images! I used the CZ "Love You" die for the sentiment and attached that to the jar. I stamped one of the sentiments from the stamp set in black ink below it. I added a butterfly from the Look For the Rainbows stamp set and matching dies. I used some Metallic Nuvo drops that matched my cardstock perfectly around the sentiments.
CARD 4:
This was my favorite card. I stamped the flowers with MFT Natural Ink and colored them in with pencils. I then made the background using the new Spring Flowers Background stamp from the last Simon release. I embossed it with white embossing powder on Ranger Watercolor paper. I then painted it with watercolors that would blend well with the flowers. I think it is so pretty. I attached the flowers to the front of it.
I die-cut the MOM die and attached it to the bottom of the card. I added a pre-printed sentiment strip and it's late, so I'm not going to even try to figure out what set it is from haha. I added some sparkling clear sequins - my card finishing addiction!
CARD 5:
This card was fairly easy because I used patterned paper. I had these pieces leftover from previous card kits, so I'm not sure what they were from.. I love that floral paper so much though. I die-cut the top of it with the SSS Drifting Stitching die. I attached both papers to a cream card base. I stamped the flowers with black ink and colored them in with watercolors and pencils. I attached them over the papers.
I embossed two of the sentiments from the stamp set with SSS Cream embossing powder on the top of the card. I tied some Lawn Fawn Pretty In Pink sparkle cord around the bottom of the flowers. I added some Cloud 9 Dream Drops around the sentiment - they look like little pearls.
I always feel like these 5 card posts have SO many words no one will want to read them all. I really love this Beautiful Flowers 2 stamp set and matching dies and I'm happy I finally put them to use two years or so later! I hope you enjoyed these cards. Thank you so much for visiting! Challenge yourself to try this - make 5 cards with one of your older less used stamp sets. It really is fun to do! Suzy
Beautiful cards, Suzy! It must take you so long to make/color five cards, but we appreciate seeing five different designs from the same stamp set. Thank you
