Today is the first day of a Simon Says Stamp two day blog hop celebrating their newest product release called All the Feels. If you are like me, it's going to give you all the feels as there is definitely something for everyone in it! Yesterday, I posted this card using the new Bouquet for Mom and Sweet Garden Background Stamp. You can see the blog post with instructions HERE.
I created a "one stamp, five ways" post for my monthly guest segment on the SSS blog which will be posted on March 31st. Here is a sneak of the five cards using the Floral Garden stamp set.
My newest set of watercolor cards are called Sunshine and Rainbows. I drew these a couple months ago when I felt hope that things were going to get better and there was going to be a rainbow after the storm. They are very simple drawings, which makes them really fun to paint. They are all printed on Ranger watercolor paper on the flat side without texture. Although it is watercolor paper, it works with any coloring medium you prefer. I left sentiments off many of them so you can add your own. Below is an image of the set which includes two each of six designs, so twelve cards for $9.99. That's a pretty good price for 12 cards and all you have to do is paint them and attach them to a card base.
I have colored 3 of the images to show you and I will have the other 3 on my blog next week. Here are the 3 with tips and techniques I used for each:
I cut this rainbow out so I didn't have to use the sentiment that was on it. I painted it with 6 colors of Karin Brushmarkers. I used more color on the left side of each section and then used water to pull the color out. I colored in the stars with a Kaiser Craft Silver Glitter Pen. I attached this to a white card base. I die-cut that with the largest SSS A2 Thin Frame Die and mounted it on a red card base.
I used the new CZ "Happy Everything" die for the sentiment. I die-cut the frame for it from white cardstock. Then I die-cut the letters out with 3 colors of cardstock for each word. I cut the cardstock in thirds for each letter and glued them on top of each other to create a rainbow effect. It looks hard, but it really wasn't. I attached those to the bottom of the card. I added some Chalk Stick Nuvo Drops and used a white Uniball gel pen to add white lines to the rainbow segments.
I made this watercolor card into a shaker card as the design leant itself perfectly for this. I first painted it with Karin Brushmarkers again using the same 6 colors. I used a medium gray brush marker for the shading on the clouds. I used colored pencils on the letters. I added lines on the rainbow segments with a white Uniball again.
I die-cut a frame with the MFT A2 Rectangle Frames dies from yellow cardstock. I attached a transparency to the inside of the frame and then built up foam tape behind the edges of it. I used 3mm sparkling clear sequins, sparkling clear sequin mix, sparkling clear confetti sequin mix, and sparkling clear jewels all by Pretty Pink Posh on the inside of the shaker window. I attached the frame over the card.
I used the Lawn Fawn Just Double Stitching Rectangle Dies around the edges of this card. I then painted it with the same colors of Karin Brushmarkers. I used Tonic Crystal Glaze over the sun. It's thicker than Glossy Accents and comes out fast, building up a more dimensional glaze which I really like. I used White Blizzard Nuvo glitter drops over the raindrops.
I stamped a sentiment from the new XL Greetings 2 stamp set on the top of the card with intense black ink. I used a gray colored pencil to add a shadow behind the letters.
These rainbows are fun to work with because you can do so much with them. I have some other ideas for the other 3 I'm excited to show you soon!

So pretty- Love the big rainbow card with happy everything (actually love it all). In your opinion, would the Karin brushmarkers or Tombow markers or Distress markers be best to purchase? Thanks for sharing your lovelies!
