I have a "one stamp, five ways" post to share with you today using a new stamp set from the Love You, Too release called Magnolia Cottage. Here is an image:
It's always so hard for me to tell you what patterned paper I used as I have a huge stack of 6x6 papers from previous card kits and pads I've purchased. I tend to remove them all and organize by color, so no idea where they come from! I think this one might have been in a Heidi Swapp pad. I die-cut it with the largest frame in the SSS A2 Thin Frame Die. I attached it to a white card base. I stamped all of the images in the stamp set with intense black ink and colored them in with Copic markers. I doubled up on the flowers and leaves. I die-cut them all out with matching dies.
I embossed a sentiment from the stamp set with Cactus Flower embossing powder. I love that this sentiment fits so perfectly on the flower vase. I attached the vase first and then arranged all the flowers above it. I used the big leaves in the back to frame the bouquet. These appear to be magnolia flowers, but I colored them purple for this one!
Card 2:
I used two patterned papers from a past card kit - not sure again which pad they came from. I die-cut the yellow striped one with a Lawn Fawn stitched rectangle. I die-cut the smaller beige one with an MFT Stitched Rounded Rectangle die. I attached the papers to a card base. I stamped all of the magnolia blossoms and leaves on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink and colored them in with colored pencils. Since I have about 8 Magnolia trees in my yard, this time I tried to make the flowers look like magnolias. I just used warm grey pencils around the edges.
I really like the font in the sentiments in this set and how little and dainty the letters are. I stamped the smaller part of the sentiment with Intense black ink on the top of the paper. I then die-cut a SSS Hello die in both yellow and black cardstock and layered them below it. I tried the yellow on top and couldn't decide which I preferred, but I ended up with the black as it stood out more. So the yellow became the shadow. I arranged all of the flowers and leaves on the bottom part of the small rectangle. I finished with 3 sparkling clear sequins.
Card 3:
I just purchased this Lawn Fawn Scalloped Slimline die, so I decided to use it. I die-cut the outside frame with pink cardstock and the inside piece with the hearts with white cardstock. I removed the hearts with the words in them (they are so cute!) and put some paper behind them I had previously painted with pink watercolor. I stamped several of the little flowers and the buds and leaves with MFT Natural Ink. I colored them all in with colored pencils.
I arranged a little grouping under each heart with one flower, one set of leaves, and one bud. I cut the sentiment apart for this one and stamped part of it in each of the 3 hearts. I added sequins from the SSS Cupcake Frosting sequin mix around each floral grouping.
Card 4:
This is by far my favorite card from the 5 I made and the only one where I used all the cute little "house" decorations in the stamp set. I made the background by die-cutting a piece of white cardstock with the largest A2 Frame Die. I used a die-cut hill I had sitting around and also die-cut that one with the same frame die. I colored it with warm grey Copics. I rubbed Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink with my SSS brushes on the top part of the rectangle. I attached the ground over the background.
I attached all of the stamped images on the background. I arranged the vase with the little cottage stamps on it and I just LOVE how cute this concept is! I arranged lots of the flowers and leaves in the top of the picture. I stamped the sentiment on the bottom of the card with black ink.
Card 5:
This is my "random stamping" card. I die-cut a piece of Arches watercolor paper with the largest A2 Thin Frame Die. I then stamped all of the flower and leaf images on it with black ink randomly arranged like a puzzle. I painted them with Karin Brushmarkers which always give me really intense color.
I attached this piece to a piece of teal cardstock. I then arranged two of the A2 Thin Frame Dies with tape so they were the same distance apart. I attached two frames with tape so they were positioned centered together. I die-cut them from the same teal cardstock and from a dark pink glitter paper from the SSS Glitter Paper set. I attached the two teal frames with the in-between portion left between them to the card front first. I then attached just the in-between piece to the top of the frames from the ones die-cut with glitter paper. I die-cut one of the smallest rectangles and frames from teal and glitter cardstock. I embossed the sentiment on the rectangle with white embossing powder. I used a "hello" from another CZ stamp set I had since the big one wouldn't fit here. I added some sparkling clear sequins around the sentiment. I've said it before and I'll say it again - I do love using my SSS A2 Thin Frame Dies!
Thanks for visiting today. I hope you enjoyed this "one stamp, five ways" post using the new Magnolia Cottage stamp set. You can purchase it with the dies as a bundle here. I love it so much - especially all the little cottage details. I'll have to use them more again with some other floral stamp sets I have (as we all know I have a lot of flower stamps!). Have a great day friends! xoxo suzy
