Today I have a really fun card to share with you. In fact, I think this might be my favorite card I've ever made! That's probably because it is full of sweets which are my life. Making it has gotten me in a serious donut craving mood though. I will have them before this weekend is over. Or for my birthday DINNER next Friday! Here is an image of the stamp set that has my sweet tooth all worked up. I had to buy this one as soon as I saw it!
This darling stamp set is by Mama Elephant and it is called MILKSHAKE. You can also buy it as a bundle with the dies which is what I did. And I'm very happy that I did as these images needed to look perfect and not fussy cut this time!
I think I hit it out of the ball park on this card haha. I know that is bragging, but I always say when I don't like a card, so I should be able to say when i love one, right? Again, though, the stamps make the card! I made the background a few days ago for another card and ended up not using it. So that made it so easy to put together! I used the SSS Tiny Hearts Stencil and positioned it on a slimline card base twice lining up the hearts. Who needs an actual slim-line stencil?!?! I used a mixture of two Gina K. Designs glitter pastes. One was the neon pink one from the SSS February card kit. It isn't sold alone though. The other is called Iridescent Glitz Glitter Gel. I mixed just a tiny bit of the neon pink one with some of the white so it would be subtle. I rubbed it over the stencil and let it dry. I used a slimline scalloped edge frame by Hello Bluebird over it.
I stamped all of the images in the stamp set with MFT Natural Ink. I also doubled up on some of the images (all but the two shakes with critters attached) so I would make sure to have enough to fill a slim-line. I colored them all in with colored pencils. The pencils were perfect for this images since they are so soft. I die-cut them all out with the matching dies and attached them to the front of the card using foam tape under text tops of each and glue on the bottoms to make it look more dimensional.
I die-cut a banner die I have had forever from MFT and I painted it lightly with watercolors to match. I embossed the sentiment on it with Pink Peony embossing powder. I attached it to the top and it hung over quite a bit, so instead of cutting it off, I put some twine under it and wrapped it around the top of the card and glued it to the backside. I tied the twine into a little bow on top. I added one of the plates of cookies that I colored in bright colors to the bottom (I was so excited I had that piece to add there as it fit perfectly). Everything on this card came together so easy since I had all of the background put together and the banner already painted. And it was a pure delight to make. Although it has put me in physical danger of gaining 10 lbs. haha.
I hope you like this darling Mama Elephant stamp set called Milkshake as much as I do. It is sold out right now at SSS, but the bundle with the dies is still in stock. Not surprised it went quickly! There are links to all of the supplies I used at the bottom of this post. Thanks for visiting so much! Suzy
